Polyurethane Exterior Cornice
An exterior cornice is the profile that defines the horizontal line of a facade; it is used as a separating band between floors and as a finishing element under the eaves. Because a polyurethane cornice is light, it can be handled by one person on scaffolding at height and fixed with adhesive and screws. The profile section determines the shadow line: deep sections produce a strong shadow, slim sections a soft transition. Leaving a cavity behind it allows the design to include a concealed light strip.

Does a cornice throw rainwater clear of the facade?
With a drip-edge section it helps water fall clear of the facade. A cornice is not a waterproofing product; roof and gutter details are resolved by their own systems.
How are profiles joined on a long facade?
Lengths are butted together; PU-based adhesive is applied to the joints and the parts are screwed to each other from opposite sides. The joint is then filled and sanded flush with 180-220 grit.
Can an LED strip be recessed into the cornice?
Concealed lighting can be designed by leaving a cavity behind the profile. Fitting bodies that heat above 80 °C must not touch the product surface directly.
How often is cornice paint renewed?
The product needs no maintenance; renewal depends on the life of the topcoat. A UV-resistant elastic facade paint is renewed at the interval specified by its manufacturer.
