Villa Exterior Facade

Villa facade decoration is the architectural order created by window surrounds, columns, the cornice line and entrance crowns working together on a detached house. Because polyurethane elements are produced at 150-220 kg/m³ (production target ~160 kg/m³) density they are light: they can be applied to an existing villa without adding static load and without scaffolding or heavy equipment. As the closed-cell structure absorbs less than 1% water, garden irrigation, rain and frost do not damage the facade details.

Which elements are combined on a villa facade?

A balanced facade is usually built in three layers: window and door surrounds frame the openings, an inter-floor or under-eaves cornice defines the horizontal line, and columns with crowns create focus at the entrance and balconies. Column diameter is chosen between 20 and 80 cm and proportioned to the floor height; for cladding work the widest point of the existing pier is measured and the inner diameter of the column must exceed it.

Can the facade of an existing villa be renovated later?

Yes. Because the elements are light they are applied directly onto render: the surface is cleaned of dust, grease and loose paint, a PU-based mounting adhesive is applied in an uninterrupted bead and the parts are screwed to each other at the joints. Screw heads are sunk into the material, filled and sanded with 180-220 grit; a UV-resistant elastic facade paint is then applied.

How are colour and paint chosen for a villa facade?

Products leave the factory with a white acrylic primer; this is a technical base, not a finish coat. An unpainted surface fades under UV. Facade colour is usually set as off-white or beige for the body with a half-tone lighter shade for the elements. For warranty, the primer must come from the same brand as the topcoat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a polyurethane application on a villa facade take?

The duration depends on facade area and the number of elements. Since the elements are light and easy to cut, a single team can complete a substantial section per day; the adhesive cures in about one hour under normal conditions and takes longer in cold weather.

Can the columns carry the villa’s balcony or roof?

No. A polyurethane column is decorative and hollow. If a load will rest on it, an internal steel frame is fitted; the frame carries the load while the column remains an aesthetic cladding. The column is never filled with concrete.

Is it suitable for coastal and humid climates?

Yes. Because the closed-cell structure absorbs less than 1% water, salty humidity, rot and mould are not an issue. A UV-resistant elastic topcoat is still mandatory.

Can facade elements be combined with wood-effect beams?

Yes. Wood-effect polyurethane beams and rafters are often used under eaves together with classical surrounds and cornice lines; unlike timber they do not rot, host insects or require periodic varnishing.

Can a custom model be produced for my villa project?

Yes. Working from architectural drawings or photographs, a project-specific mould or a direct model is produced with 3D scanning and CNC. 3D design and on-site surveys are chargeable services; the quotation covers the product and delivery is ex-works.
