Aesthetic Details and Ornaments in Classical Architecture
Decorative embellishments, indispensable for historical structures and prestigious residential projects, are key elements that add depth to wall and ceiling surfaces. The products in our Ornaments category combine the elegance of classical architecture with modern manufacturing technologies to elevate contemporary projects. Eliminating the weight and fragility issues of traditional plaster, our high-density rigid PU formulation offers long-lasting, effortless aesthetics. Our extensive product range features alternatives for every design language, from the majestic curves of the Baroque era to the clean lines of modern architecture.
Advantages of High-Density Rigid PU Technology
The decorative elements you choose for your projects should not only be visually appealing but also structurally durable. Our products are manufactured with a density of 150-200 kg/m³. This density provides a hardness similar to wood while keeping the material exceptionally lightweight. Consequently, it is possible to create monumental designs without adding extra load to the building's structural system. Featuring a closed-cell structure, this material offers complete resistance to moisture and humidity with a water absorption rate of less than 1%. This prevents deformations such as rotting, insect infestation, or expansion seen in wood, while completely eliminating the cracking and crumbling issues associated with plaster.
Modular Combinations and Design Flexibility
Ornaments can serve as standalone focal points or be combined with wall moldings, ceiling medallions, and cornices to create rich compositions. For instance, our large-scale motif P28120 (880x1660x50 mm) can be positioned as a primary relief on spacious living room walls or headboard designs. In more minimal spaces or corner transitions, compact models like P2897 (114x172x13 mm) provide elegant transitions. To maintain symmetry and balance in classical wall paneling, our specially developed matching sets like P2812L (left) and P2812R (right) are ideal. All our products are delivered factory-primed in white, allowing them to be easily customized post-installation with water-based or synthetic paints to match any color palette.
Technical Specifications and Performance Power
- Density Value: Lightweight structure with high impact resistance, ranging between 150-200 kg/m³.
- Temperature Resistance: Maintains dimensional stability between -20°C and +80°C, with no shrinkage or warping.
- Moisture and Water Resistance: Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the water absorption rate is below 1%, making it safe for wet areas.
- Fire Behavior: Classified as flame-retardant; self-extinguishes once the flame source is removed.
- Surface Quality: Factory-primed with a smooth surface that can be sanded and puttied.
Usage Areas
The decorative ornaments product range serves as an aesthetic signature in both interior and exterior projects, offering versatile application possibilities. Indoors, they are widely used at the center of decorative panels on living room walls, above headboards, behind dining room sideboards, and at ceiling corners. They also provide aesthetic continuity in door pediments and decorative transitions around windows. Models like P2812L are preferred in furniture manufacturing for embellishing wardrobe doors, dresser drawers, and mirror frames. On exteriors, they are used to give buildings a monumental appearance at entrance portals, under-window sill decorations, and the intersection points of floor moldings. They stand out in villa facades, hotel projects, and historical building restorations due to their weather-resistant structure.
Installation
For a professional and long-lasting installation, the assembly steps must be followed with precision. First, the application surface must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust. The position of the ornament on the wall should be measured down to the millimeter and marked with a pencil. Silicone-based adhesives must absolutely be avoided during the bonding phase. Instead, a high-strength polyurethane adhesive such as Polure Polfix should be preferred. Once the adhesive is applied to the back of the product, it is positioned on the marked area. For installing heavy or large models, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory until the adhesive cures. After drying is complete, screw holes and joints are filled with exterior or interior putty. The surface is then smoothed using 180-220 grit sandpaper. In the final step, two coats of water-based or synthetic paint are applied to the primed surface. For exterior applications, UV-resistant paint must be used.
Care Information
Maintenance of our decorative ornaments is highly practical and effortless. Thanks to their closed-cell structure, the smooth surfaces do not retain dirt or stains and can be easily cleaned by wiping with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Abrasive chemicals, thinners, or stiff brushes should not be used during cleaning. Exterior ornaments can be washed with low-pressure water and a mild detergent to remove accumulated dust and environmental pollution over time. Since unpainted PU materials may yellow over time, it is important to paint them after installation. If you wish to change the decoration color of the space years later, you can easily repaint the surface with water-based paint of your choice after a light sanding.
