The P4816 is a square-shaped polyurethane decorative ornament that seamlessly blends classic architectural lines with modern manufacturing technology. Featuring a central, symmetrically radiating sunburst or stylized floral motif, the design is elegantly framed by a delicate rope-braid border. It is specifically designed to add depth and visual movement to interior wall and ceiling designs, as well as furniture surfaces.
Measuring 115x115x33 mm, this compact decorative element is manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³). Offering a surface hardness comparable to wood, this material provides exceptional impact resistance. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its moisture absorption rate is below 1%, preventing swelling, cracking, or flaking in damp environments—unlike traditional plaster. Furthermore, it is immune to structural issues common to wood, such as rotting, insect infestation, or warping over time.
The product is delivered pre-coated with a white industrial primer applied during manufacturing. While this primer prepares the surface for painting, paint manufacturers often do not guarantee applications done without their own primers; therefore, applying an additional primer coat before the final finish is entirely at the user's discretion. Easily painted with water-based or synthetic paints, the motif blends seamlessly with its application surface.
In interior spaces, it serves as an excellent accent piece for wall paneling (boiserie) corners, door pediment centers, fireplace surrounds, or surrounding ceiling medallions. For exterior applications, it adds dimension to facades when placed on floor moldings, window trim corners, or alongside keystones. For outdoor use, applying UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent the yellowing effects of sunlight on the material.
Installation is highly practical and is carried out by applying Polure Polfix adhesive to a clean, dry surface. Mechanical fastening with screws is required to prevent slippage until the adhesive fully cures. Once the screw heads and joints are filled with a suitable putty and smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper, the painting process can begin. With its ability to maintain its shape in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C, it offers a long-lasting decorative solution.
- Thanks to its versatile design, the P4816 square motif ornament has a wide range of applications
- In interior wall molding and paneling projects, it is ideal for filling frame corners or adding an aesthetic touch to joints
- It can be used as a decorative applique in furniture restoration projects, such as on wooden cabinet doors, dresser drawers, and headboards
- In ceiling decorations, it can be arranged symmetrically around ceiling medallions to create classic ceiling compositions
- On exteriors, it adds dimension to facades as a complementary accent motif along window trims, door pediments, or floor moldings
- The installation surface must be completely free of dust, moisture, and grease
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the product and press it onto the designated spot
- To prevent slippage due to the product's weight during the adhesive's full curing time, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory
- Once dry, fill screw holes and any gaps with acrylic putty
- After the putty dries, smooth the surface with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Optionally, apply an additional primer, then finish by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint to complete the installation
- Thanks to their closed-cell structure, polyurethane ornaments are completely resistant to water and moisture
- They can be easily cleaned by wiping with a soft, damp cloth
- To avoid damaging the paint, do not use abrasive chemicals, acidic cleaners, or harsh sponges
- Since exterior applications are exposed to weather conditions and sunlight, periodic repainting is recommended to prevent color fading
- Lightly sanding the surface before repainting will improve paint adhesion
