Similar Products(Pilaster Columns)
The P5014F is a premium polyurethane pilaster capital designed to crown flat wall columns with the elegant contours of classical architecture. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, this architectural accent adds depth and character to flat surfaces. It is the perfect choice for elegantly capping vertical lines at building entrances, living room walls, or exterior facades.
Crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), this capital features compact yet highly defined dimensions: 74 mm depth, 205 mm width, and 190 mm height. Unlike traditional plaster moldings, this durable material is highly resistant to moisture and impact. Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure.
The visual design is inspired by the ancient Ionic order, featuring symmetrical volutes and detailed acanthus leaf reliefs along the lower section. A delicate central floral motif balances the composition, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow on the facade. The flawless, smooth surface finish showcases the superior quality of our precision molding technology.
Delivered with a factory-applied white primer coat, the capital is ready for painting. To comply with paint manufacturers' warranty terms, applying an additional primer coat before the final finish is optional and left to the installer's discretion. Since unpainted polyurethane can yellow under direct sunlight, using UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory for outdoor applications.
For installation, Polure Polfix adhesive must be applied to a clean surface, followed by mechanical fastening with screws. Silicone-based adhesives are not suitable for this application. Once screw holes and joints are filled with joint compound and sanded smooth, the capital can be painted with water-based or synthetic paint in any desired color.
- The P5014F pilaster capital serves as a decorative crowning element for flat wall columns (pilasters)
- Indoors, it is integrated with wall paneling (wainscoting) in spacious living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and luxury residential corridors to evoke a neo-classical ambiance
- It is also an excellent choice for aesthetic corner joints where vertical door and window trims meet
- For exterior applications, it can be safely painted and installed on entrance portals, window surrounds, and vertical intersections of floor moldings to add architectural depth to the facade
- The installation surface must be completely free of dust, moisture, and grease
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive in continuous beads to the back of the capital
- After positioning the capital on the wall, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory at appropriate points to ensure a secure, permanent bond (silicone adhesives must not be used)
- Fill screw heads and joints with a suitable filler
- Once dry, sand the filled areas with 180-220 grit sandpaper, apply an optional extra coat of primer if desired, and finish with at least two coats of water-based or UV-resistant exterior paint
- Due to its polyurethane composition, the product is highly resistant to water and moisture, making it easy to clean with a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, highly acidic solutions, or abrasive wire brushes, as these can damage the painted surface
- For outdoor installations, periodically inspect the painted surface and repaint when necessary to extend the life of the coating and maintain UV protection
Is it suitable for exterior use, and is it affected by weather conditions?
Yes, it is fully suitable for exterior use. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is under 1%, preventing freezing, rotting, or swelling due to moisture. However, since unpainted products may yellow under sunlight, they must be finished with a UV-resistant exterior topcoat.
Which adhesive should be used for installation?
Only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used during installation. Silicone or similar flexible adhesives do not provide long-term durability for polyurethane products. Additionally, mechanical fastening with screws is required alongside the adhesive to safely support the product's weight.
What are its advantages compared to plaster column capitals?
Plaster capitals are heavy, fragile under impact, and deform in humid environments. Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure.
Is it necessary to apply a primer before the final coat of paint?
The product is shipped from the factory with a white industrial primer coat. However, since paint manufacturers do not warranty paint jobs done without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat before the topcoat is optional and entirely up to the user.
Can the product be painted in any color?
Yes, it can be painted in any color using water-based or synthetic paints to match your interior concept. Artistic finishing techniques such as gold leafing, distressing, or patina will also look exceptionally elegant on its detailed relief surface.
