Our P5016A decorative pilaster capital seamlessly blends the classic Corinthian scrolls of Roman and Greek architecture with modern material technology. Designed to break up flat wall surfaces and introduce three-dimensional depth, this architectural element elegantly crowns columns in both interior and exterior designs. Compared to traditional plaster or heavy marble alternatives, it offers effortless handling and installation to accelerate your projects.
Measuring 89 mm in depth, 305 mm in width, and 177 mm in height, this capital pairs beautifully with medium to large-scale pilaster shafts. It is manufactured from high-density (150-200 kg/m³), closed-cell rigid polyurethane (PU). Offering a wood-like hardness, it is highly impact-resistant and provides complete protection against moisture, water, and rot with a water absorption rate under 1%. It retains its shape in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C, resisting shrinkage and cracking.
The visual design stands out with elegant acanthus leaf motifs at the center and circular spiral scrolls on both sides. While the stepped abacus at the top symbolizes the load-bearing strength of a column, the detailed leaf reliefs on the lower section capture the essence of classical architecture. The product comes pre-primed with a factory-applied base coat. While this primer enhances paint adhesion, applying an additional primer coat is entirely optional, as paint manufacturers often recommend using their own proprietary primers.
Offering versatile applications, this decorative capital is ideal for capping pilaster columns in villa entrances, hotel lobbies, wedding venues, and restaurant interiors. It also serves as an elegant faux support element flanking fireplaces, large door arches, and interior wall niches. For exterior applications, coating the product with a UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory to prevent yellowing caused by sunlight.
Installation is exceptionally straightforward. After establishing a chemical bond on a clean, dry surface using Polure Polfix adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws is required for a secure application. Once installed, screw holes and joints are filled with joint compound, sanded smooth, and then painted. With its self-extinguishing, flame-retardant properties and long-lasting durability, this decorative element adds lasting value to your properties.

- In hotel lobbies, restaurants, luxury offices, and classically styled residences, it pairs with pilaster shafts to create focal points behind TV units or around fireplaces
- Outdoors, it is preferred as a finishing element for decorative columns flanking villa entrances and building facades
- Thanks to its wide profile and prominent scrolls, it delivers a rich, balanced aesthetic in high-ceilinged spaces and expansive facades
- Before installation, ensure the application surface is dry, dust-free, and clean
- Plan the placement by aligning the bottom of the capital with the pilaster shaft
- Only Polure Polfix adhesive must be used for bonding; silicone-based adhesives are not suitable for this material
- To ensure a secure and permanent bond, mechanical fastening to the wall with screws is mandatory
- Screw heads should be slightly countersunk, and then these spots, along with the joints, must be filled with high-quality filler
- Once the filler dries, sand it smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, apply an optional extra coat of primer, and finish with two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Thanks to the closed-cell structure of the rigid PU material, maintenance is completely hassle-free
- For indoor use, accumulated dust can be easily wiped away with a slightly damp cloth
- Avoid using harsh abrasive chemicals or thinner-based solvents during cleaning, as they can damage the paint
- For exterior applications, inspect the joints and filler once a year
- Any minor dents or scratches from impacts can be easily repaired by lightly sanding, filling with compound, and spot-painting to restore its original appearance
