The P5020C50 decorative element is a premium-quality pilaster capital designed to bring the most exquisite details of classical architecture to wall surfaces. Providing a grand transition at the top termination points of flat wall columns, this capital creates a deep aesthetic in both interiors and building facades. Seamlessly blending with neo-classical, baroque, and traditional design languages, it lends an elite architectural identity to any project.
Boasting superior technical standards, the product features dimensions of 180x360x280 mm, offering ideal proportions for medium to large-scale pilaster designs. Manufactured from high-density (150-200 kg/m³) rigid polyurethane, this capital offers wood-like durability while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is under 1%, ensuring it remains unaffected by moisture, rain, or steam, maintaining its shape for a lifetime without swelling, rotting, or cracking.
The fine craftsmanship in its design easily distinguishes this product from ordinary decorative elements. The acanthus leaf reliefs gracefully flaring upward from the bottom, the symmetrical volute (scroll) curves on the sides, and the central floral rosette motif feature sharp lines reminiscent of traditional stone carving. Thanks to advanced molding technology, even the deepest carved details are smoothly transferred to the surface. It offers superior surface quality and impact resistance compared to fragile, shedding plaster or fragile EPS foam with blurry details.
With a wide range of applications, this pilaster capital can be safely used for both interior and exterior designs. It is frequently utilized as a complementary architectural element in villa entrance portals, hotel lobbies, wedding and ballroom halls, fireplace column designs, or luxury living room wall partitions. For exterior applications, coating it with a UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect it from the weathering effects of sunlight.
The product is shipped from the factory pre-primed with a special undercoat that prepares the surface for painting. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee finishes applied without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat before the final paint is optional and left to the customer's preference. During installation, it should be adhered to the surface using Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive and then mechanically secured by screwing through designated hidden points.
- This polyurethane pilaster capital is primarily used as a crowning cap in flat wall column (pilaster) designs
- Indoors, it creates a stunning focal point in hotel and restaurant lobbies, wall partitions of spacious living rooms, decorative framing above fireplaces, column applications around doors and windows, and library furniture details
- Outdoors, it serves as a grand architectural transition element on villa facades, building entrance columns, window jamb sides, and floor molding intersections
- To achieve a cohesive look, it is recommended to pair it with flat or fluted pilaster shafts of matching widths
- The installation surface must be dry, clean, and free of dust
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the back of the product and position it on the wall
- In addition to the adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws through hidden points is mandatory for a secure installation
- Screw holes and joints should be filled with an exterior-grade acrylic filler, and once dry, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- An optional extra coat of primer can be applied over the factory primer based on the paint manufacturer's recommendation
- Finally, apply at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- For outdoor applications, the use of UV-resistant paint is mandatory
- Cleaning the product is highly practical; it can be dusted by wiping with a slightly damp, soft cloth
- Avoid using harsh chemicals such as abrasive acids, hydrochloric acid, or strong thinners during cleaning
- For exterior applications, it is recommended to inspect the painted surface once a year to extend the paint's lifespan and maintain UV protection
- Any localized scratches or dents resulting from impacts can easily be repaired using standard filler, sanding, and touch-up painting
