Pilaster Head

A pilaster head is the polyurethane head piece that completes the body of a pilaster, the half-embedded decorative column on a wall, from above. Used as the upper termination of the pilaster system on interior and exterior facade walls, it creates a transition between the body and the ceiling or cornice. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied directly with mounting adhesive, resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than its plaster or timber equivalent is an advantage at high mounting points. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and relief details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces the pilaster head in various style and size options.
