The P5030C50 Polyurethane Pilaster Column Capital is a premium architectural element designed to elegantly crown vertical wall lines and recessed column designs. It is ideal for capping pilaster systems that create a structural, load-bearing illusion in high-ceilinged interiors or grand building entrances. By adding depth and classic architectural detail, it balances the overall geometry of the space and defines visual boundaries.
Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this capital measures 272 mm in width, 543 mm in height, and 420 mm in depth. Despite its substantial and voluminous appearance, it is remarkably lightweight, ensuring it adds no extra static load to the mounting surface or building structure. With a water absorption rate of under 1%, it is completely impervious to moisture, dampness, and water. It maintains its dimensional stability in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C, preventing structural issues like cracking, shrinking, or warping.
Drawing inspiration from Ancient Greek and Roman architecture, the design features symmetrical acanthus leaves rising from the base. Above these leaves, elegant volutes (spiral scrolls) curve outward, flanking a central floral relief. The concave abacus at the top provides a smooth transition to ceilings or beams, softening the joints. Thanks to precision molding technology, even the finest carved details are rendered with sharp, crisp lines.
Suitable for both interior and exterior projects, this pilaster capital is highly versatile, making it perfect for hotel receptions, restaurant halls, luxury residential corridors, and villa facades. It serves as an excellent solution for creating a faux column effect on flat walls or wrapping existing structural columns.
Installation is carried out on dry, smooth surfaces using Polure Polfix adhesive. For a secure and permanent hold, mechanical fastening with screws is required. Once screw holes and joints are filled with a suitable filler and sanded smooth, the capital is ready for painting. While the factory-applied primer prepares the surface for paint, an additional coat of primer before the final finish is optional, depending on the paint manufacturer's warranty terms. For outdoor applications, UV-resistant paint should be used to prevent yellowing.
Unlike traditional plaster alternatives that crack and crumble, or wood that rots when exposed to moisture, this polyurethane decorative element offers a long-lasting, maintenance-free lifespan.
- The P5030C50 pilaster column capital is designed to crown semi-recessed column systems, creating a striking vertical column effect on flat walls
- In interiors, it is ideal for accentuating vertical lines in spacious living rooms, hotel lobbies, fireplace surrounds, and archways
- Thanks to its complete water and moisture resistance, it can be safely used on exterior facades, villa entrances, window pilaster designs, and porch columns
- When combined with wall moldings in large halls, it plays a key role in creating neoclassical wall decorations
- The installation surface must be completely clean and free of dust, moisture, and grease
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the back of the product and press it onto the surface
- For a secure and permanent installation, mechanical fastening with screws at designated points is required
- Fill screw heads and joints with an exterior-grade filler
- Once dry, sand smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- After an optional primer coat, apply at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- For outdoor applications, using UV-filtered paint is mandatory
- The product can be easily cleaned using a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid using abrasive powders, stiff brushes, or acidic chemical cleaners that could damage the surface texture
- For outdoor installations, periodically inspect the painted surface and perform local touch-ups as needed to extend the paint's lifespan and protect it from weathering
