The P5020C50T corner pilaster capital is a specially designed corner element crafted to revive classical architecture in both interior and exterior projects. It is used to elegantly terminate pilaster column designs at 90-degree corner joints where walls meet. Combining traditional hand-carved craftsmanship with modern manufacturing standards, this piece adds depth and structural integrity to any space.
Measuring 230 mm in width, 450 mm in depth, and 280 mm in height, this product's substantial profile makes it ideal for medium to large-scale projects. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), it offers the hardness and durability of real wood. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it is moisture-resistant, helping prevent structural issues like swelling or rotting in exterior applications. It also exhibits high dimensional stability against temperature fluctuations, preventing expansion or cracking.
The visual design of the capital showcases a beautiful synthesis of classical Corinthian and Ionic architectural styles. Prominent, outward-curving volute motifs adorn the sides, while acanthus leaves rising from the lower shaft infuse the piece with organic movement. Intricate floral and rosette reliefs on the front face enhance its rich form with highly defined carved lines. The 90-degree corner angle ensures a seamless continuation of the decorative pattern across intersecting walls.
This corner pilaster capital is highly favored in grand spaces such as prestigious hotel lobbies, luxury villa entrances, restaurants, and wedding venues. In exterior designs, it serves as a decorative support that evokes a sense of structural load-bearing along cornices or window corner columns. For interiors, it can be integrated with ceiling cornices and wall panels to create magnificent overdoor pediments or niche framing decorations.
Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure. During installation, the surface must be dry and clean, and only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used for bonding. Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory. Shipped from the factory with a premium white primer, applying an additional coat of primer is optional. If used outdoors, it must be painted with UV-resistant paint to prevent yellowing.
- This corner pilaster column capital is designed to elegantly resolve corner joints in both interior decor and exterior architecture
- On villa facades, it serves as a terminating capital at the top of corner columns where two walls meet
- In spacious venues such as hotel lobbies, luxury restaurants, and convention centers, it is preferred to maintain architectural continuity at 90-degree turns of columns or wall projections
- Indoors, it can be utilized as an aesthetic detail at the corner endings of living room wall paneling, in decorative column designs above fireplaces, or as lateral supports for wide doors and portal entrances
- The product's generous width and depth provide a balanced visual scale in high-ceilinged spaces and expansive facades
- For outdoor applications, when coated with UV-protective paint, it becomes a long-lasting decorative element under eaves, on balcony columns, or at terrace entrances
- Before installation, ensure that the corner surface to be treated is dry, dust-free, and clean
- Apply high-strength Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the capital
- Once the product is positioned on the wall, mechanical fastening with screws at designated points is mandatory to ensure a secure hold
- Screw heads and gaps at the joints should be filled with an exterior-grade putty, and once dry, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- The product is delivered factory-primed; due to paint manufacturers' warranty conditions, applying an additional primer coat is optional
- In the final step, complete the process by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint for interiors, or strictly UV-resistant exterior paint for outdoor applications
- Thanks to its rigid polyurethane structure, this column capital requires extremely low maintenance
- Dust accumulated indoors can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth without using chemical abrasives
- With a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it will not swell or rot when washed or exposed to highly humid environments
- For exterior applications, it is recommended to inspect the painted surface once a year and perform local paint touch-ups if necessary
- In areas exposed to direct sunlight, the quality of the UV-resistant paint is critical to prevent the product from yellowing
Will it be affected by rain and sun when used outdoors?
Yes, this product is completely suitable for exterior use. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it has low water absorption (below 1%), meaning it is moisture-resistant in weather conditions such as rain, humidity, and frost, and highly resistant to rot. However, to protect against the sun's UV rays, it must be painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint when used outdoors. If left unpainted, it may yellow over time.
Which adhesive should be used for installation, and are screws mandatory?
Polure Polfix adhesive, specially developed for installation, must be used. Silicone-based adhesives should be avoided as they can flex over the long term. Due to the product's volume and safety requirements, mechanical fastening with screws at designated points is mandatory in addition to the adhesive.
Does the product come painted, and is a primer coat necessary?
The product is shipped from the factory with a special white primer applied. This primer prepares the surface for painting. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications done without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat is entirely at the customer's discretion. Water-based or synthetic paints can be applied over it.
What advantages does it have over plaster or wood column capitals?
Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure. Compared to wood, it handles damp conditions well, resists pests, and helps reduce cracking or warping over time. Its detail quality is far superior to EPS foam products, and it is highly impact-resistant.
How does the 90-degree corner design simplify installation?
This product is specifically designed with a 90-degree angle for exterior or interior corner turns where two walls meet. It eliminates the hassle of difficult 45-degree miter cuts and pattern matching required to join flat capitals at a corner. By fully covering the corner as a single piece, it provides flawless pattern continuity.
