Combining the majestic details of classical architecture with modern material technology, model P5050CP is a specialized architectural element designed to complete wall-integrated column systems. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, this rigid polyurethane pilaster capital elegantly terminates vertical lines in non-load-bearing decorative column installations. Frequently preferred by architects to add depth and architectural movement to classical and neoclassical facades, this product brings a striking dimension to any surface.
Manufactured from a high-quality polyurethane formula with a density of 150-200 kg/m³, the product offers a durability close to that of wood. With dimensions of 250 mm in depth, 905 mm in width, and 697 mm in height, it boasts a highly voluminous and eye-catching profile. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, preventing structural damage such as rotting, swelling, or cracking in humid climates or on exterior facades. It ensures long-lasting performance, remaining unaffected by temperature fluctuations ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
Visually, the design features a double-scroll volute structure blending ancient Ionic and Corinthian styles, a central circular floral rosette, and rising acanthus leaf reliefs at the base. Compared to traditional plaster or marble alternatives, the sharp, deep relief lines of the polyurethane material maximize the interplay of light and shadow after the final coat of paint. The product is delivered pre-primed in factory white, preserving its smooth surface finish.
Ideal applications include luxury residential entrances, hotel lobbies, wedding venues, and classical restaurant facades. For exterior applications, the use of UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect against the degrading effects of sunlight. Although the factory-applied primer prepares the surface for painting, applying an additional primer is optional and at the customer's discretion, depending on the paint manufacturer's system standards. Polure does not provide a warranty for paint brands used after installation.
Thanks to their lightweight structure, these polyurethane decorative elements do not add static load to the building and are easy to install. After applying a continuous bead of Polure Polfix adhesive to the cleaned surface, the product is positioned and mechanically secured with screws. Once the screw heads and joints are filled with exterior-grade filler and sanded smooth, the surface is ready for painting.
- The P5050CP pilaster column capital is used as a crowning element at the top of flat or fluted wall pilasters
- Indoors, it is ideal for creating a classical atmosphere in high-ceilinged living rooms, hotel reception areas, wall paneling above fireplaces, and wide corridors
- Outdoors, it can be installed on both sides of villa entrance doors, atop faux columns flanking windows, or as supporting accents beneath floor moldings
- With a width reaching 90 cm, it provides a balanced visual scale for large-scale facade designs and expansive wall surfaces
- The application surface must be completely free of dust, moisture, and grease
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive in continuous beads to the back of the product (do not use silicone adhesives)
- Once the capital is firmly positioned against the wall and column shaft, secure it mechanically with screws from opposing sides to prevent slippage until the adhesive cures
- Fill screw holes and joints with an acrylic-based exterior filler
- After the filler dries, sand smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional additional primer coat, apply at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- The use of UV-resistant paint is mandatory for exterior applications
- The polyurethane column capital can be easily cleaned using a damp, soft cloth
- Avoid using harsh chemicals containing acids, hydrochloric acid, or abrasive detergents, as they can damage the surface
- For outdoor applications, inspect the paint condition periodically depending on weather exposure, and perform local touch-ups if necessary
- The product is impact-resistant, and any physical damage can easily be repaired with filler and sandpaper before repainting
