The P5060C is a rigid foam pilaster column capital designed for large-scale projects, seamlessly blending the grandeur of classical architecture with modern manufacturing technology. Bringing the timeless design language of ancient Greece and Rome to today's luxury residences, hotels, and prestigious public buildings, this large-scale capital provides a powerful visual finish at the top of columns. Suitable for both interior designs and exterior facade applications, its structure is ideal for emphasizing the vertical lines of spacious areas.
Looking at its technical specifications, the product boasts monumental dimensions with a base width of 1085x1085 mm and a height of 840 mm. Manufactured from high-density rigid material (150-220 kg/m³), this architectural element offers a durability close to wood without adding unnecessary load to the building structure. With low water absorption (below 1%), it remains weather-resistant, helping maintain its shape, with dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.
Its visual details showcase acanthus leaves and circular volute scrolls, the most prominent elements of the classical Corinthian order. The rosette flower motifs and deep carving details on the top and sides of the product are exceptionally sharp and smooth, thanks to high-precision molding technology. These symmetrical, deep reliefs create a play of light and shadow, adding depth to any facade or wall where they are applied.
With a wide range of applications, this capital is highly favored in hotel lobbies, grand villa entrances, large restaurants, wedding halls, extensive column systems, or decorative wall panel transitions. Compared to heavy stone, marble, or cast plaster materials, it is extremely practical to handle, transport, and install. This lightweight nature offers a significant safety advantage, especially for high-rise exterior facade applications.
During installation, Polure Polfix adhesive must be applied to the cleaned surface, followed by mandatory mechanical fastening with screws. The factory-primed surface facilitates excellent paint adhesion; however, applying an additional primer for paint manufacturers' system warranties is optional and at the customer's discretion. After installation, joints should be filled with a suitable filler and sanded smooth, followed by two coats of water-based paint for interiors or UV-resistant paint for exteriors.
- The P5060C pilaster column capital, with its grand dimensions and rich carved details, is a key element that completes column designs in both interior and exterior projects
- It is particularly preferred for crowning columns in hotel lobbies, luxury villa entrances, wedding halls, and historical restoration projects
- In spacious halls, it can be used as a defining architectural detail at the ceiling junctions of column systems, atop pilasters flanking entrance doors, or in classical portal designs
- For exterior applications, when coated with UV-resistant exterior paint, it can be safely used under eaves, on large veranda columns, and as lateral supports for entrance arches
- This large-scale capital emphasizes vertical lines wherever applied, lending a monumental character to the structure
- In interiors, it can be combined with decorative pilaster shafts to create an elegant wall design, enhancing the classical architectural atmosphere in high-ceilinged corridors, gallery voids, and grand restaurant halls
- The installation surface must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and moisture
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the product and position it onto the wall or column shaft
- Due to the product's large dimensions and weight, mechanical fastening by double-sided screwing from both the top and bottom points is mandatory
- Screw holes and joints should be filled with acrylic exterior filler
- Once the filler dries, sand it smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- An optional additional primer can be applied over the factory primer
- In the final step, complete the installation by applying at least two coats of paint—water-based for interiors or UV-protected exterior paint for outdoor applications
- Thanks to its high-density structure, the P5060C column capital is highly impact-resistant and immune to issues like rotting, moisture, or insect infestation
- For cleaning, gently wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient; harsh abrasive chemicals that could damage the surface texture should be avoided
- When used outdoors, it is recommended to periodically check the paint and refresh it with UV-resistant paint if necessary to preserve its lifespan against weather conditions
- Indoors, it maintains its original form and sharp details for many years without requiring any maintenance or renovation
Can the P5060C polyurethane column capital be used on exterior facades?
Yes, the P5060C model is fully suitable for exterior use thanks to its water-resistant, closed-cell structure. It does not deform, maintaining stability in temperatures ranging from -20 °C / +70 °C. After outdoor installation, it must be painted with UV-resistant exterior paint to protect it from sunlight.
What are its advantages compared to plaster or marble column capitals?
Plaster products are susceptible to moisture and break easily, while marble adds excessive static load to buildings and is difficult to install. The polyurethane-based P5060C capital, however, does not burden the building due to its lightweight structure, is highly resistant to breakage, moisture-proof, and perfectly showcases deep, smooth carving details.
Which adhesive should be used during installation, and is screwing necessary?
Only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used to ensure chemical bonding during installation. Due to the majestic 1085x1085x840 mm dimensions of the product, mechanical fastening with screws at both the top and bottom points is mandatory in addition to the adhesive for a secure application.
Is the product ready for painting, and is an additional primer required?
The product is delivered factory-primed, making the surface ready for painting. Since paint manufacturers do not guarantee surfaces painted without their own primers, applying an additional primer after installation is completely optional and at the customer's discretion.
What types of paint can be applied to the P5060C model?
Both water-based and synthetic paints can be applied to the surface of the P5060C capital. While water-based plastic or acrylic paints are preferred for interior designs, UV-resistant exterior paints must be used for outdoor applications to prevent yellowing from sunlight.
