Decorative Column Capital

A decorative column capital is the polyurethane capital element that sits at the very top of a column and decorates it from above with relief motifs. In classical architecture it is mounted on the shaft to complete the transition between the column shaft and the structure above. The polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and is paintable. Being lighter than stone or plaster equivalents, it is easy to install at height and its detailed reliefs are preserved without breaking. Because it is mould-cast, the motif details repeat the same on every piece. Polure produces decorative column capitals in a range of diameter and model options.
