The P9002 decorative pilaster is a premium wall element adorned with acanthus leaf motifs, one of the most prominent features of classical architecture. Measuring 96 cm in height, 46 cm in width, and 15.9 cm in depth, it creates a striking sense of depth on wall surfaces, visually enriching the vertical boundaries of any space. Blending the intricate details of traditional stone and wood carving with modern manufacturing standards, this product is ideal for transforming plain walls into structural architectural features.
Crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this decorative panel offers a hardness comparable to wood along with superior impact resistance. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it has a water absorption rate of less than 1%, making it completely resistant to moisture, humidity, swelling, or rotting. It retains its structural integrity for decades, performing exceptionally well in both humid indoor environments and harsh outdoor conditions.
The visual design features three parallel vertical acanthus leaf columns cascading symmetrically downward. A prominent horizontal projection and central motifs add three-dimensional movement, maximizing the interplay of light and shadow. Shipped from the factory with a pre-sanded, smooth surface and a white primer coat, the product arrives ready for final painting.
During installation, the factory-applied primer ensures excellent paint adhesion. However, since paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee finishes applied without their own priming systems, applying an additional primer coat before the topcoat is optional and left to the user's discretion. Polure assumes no liability for the performance or warranty of the paint brands used. For exterior applications, using UV-resistant exterior paints is mandatory to protect the product from the degrading effects of sunlight.
Extremely lightweight and shatterproof compared to plaster alternatives, this pilaster stands out for its ease of installation and longevity. Unlike wood, it will not crack or suffer from insect infestation over time, and unlike EPS styrofoam, it does not dent easily. It is a highly functional decorative element that enhances both the aesthetic value and the thermal and acoustic insulation of buildings.
- Thanks to its versatile design, the P9002 pilaster column shaft is widely used in both interior and exterior projects
- Indoors, it is preferred for creating vertical divisions in wall paneling (boiserie) applications within luxury villa living rooms, hotel lobbies, and prestigious office entrances
- Framing fireplaces, creating focal points behind TV units, or positioning them as under-arch supports in hallway transitions enhances aesthetic cohesion
- Outdoors, it serves as vertical columns on both sides of entrance doors, alongside window jambs, or as decorative column cladding that adds movement to the facade between floor moldings
- When applied to exteriors with proper painting techniques, it lends a classic palace-like architectural atmosphere to the building
- Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and smooth
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the back of the product and position it on the wall
- Mechanical fastening with screws or nails is mandatory to prevent slipping while the adhesive cures
- Joints, screw heads, and wall connection points should be sealed with an exterior-grade acrylic filler
- Once the filler dries, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- After optionally applying an additional coat of primer, complete the process with at least two coats of paint—using water-based or synthetic paints for interiors, and strictly UV-resistant exterior paint for outdoor applications
- Thanks to the complete water and moisture resistance of polyurethane, maintenance is highly practical
- Indoor dust and dirt can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth
- Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners with abrasive properties or stiff brushes
- For exterior applications, surfaces soiled by environmental factors can be washed with low-pressure water
- Minor damages from physical impacts can be effortlessly repaired using acrylic filler and local paint touch-ups
- For outdoor installations, checking the paint condition every few years is recommended
