The P1459 window and door trim moulding is a premium architectural element designed to create bold, defined lines on building facades and grand interior transitions. By framing windows and doorways, this profile adds depth to structures, enhancing facade character in both modern and classical architectural projects. Manufactured with Polure quality, this product elevates the exterior aesthetics of any building.
Measuring 195 mm in width, 2400 mm in length, and 195 mm in depth, this trim profile features a highly prominent and voluminous cross-section. Produced from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), it offers wood-like durability while remaining lightweight to avoid adding extra load to the building structure. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, completely preventing issues like moisture, rot, or thermal expansion. It retains its shape in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C, ensuring a long service life.
The visual design of the P1459 model features a smooth surface with stepped, sharp lines. Linear projections at the top and bottom of the profile create a three-dimensional effect on the facade through the play of light and shadow. Free of complex ornamentation, its simple yet powerful geometric form harmonizes beautifully with neo-classical or modern architectural styles. The factory-applied primer coating facilitates excellent adhesion for the final topcoat.
This wide-profile trim is particularly ideal for large-scale residential projects, hotel facades, and villa window and door framing. Thanks to its wide cross-section, it can also be used for vertical facade decorations or combined with mid-floor cornices for horizontal division. Indoors, it can be applied to transition arches in high-ceilinged halls or as decorative wall panel framing to add extraordinary depth.
Unlike fragile plaster or concrete alternatives, its lightweight and durable structure significantly simplifies the installation process. The profiles, cut at a 45-degree angle for corners, should be fixed to a clean, dry surface using Polure Polfix adhesive. For secure exterior applications, mechanical screw support is mandatory. Once the joints are filled with joint compound and sanded smooth, painting can begin. While the factory primer prepares the surface, applying an additional primer coat is optional and depends on the user's preference to meet paint manufacturers' warranty conditions. A UV-resistant paint should be preferred for exterior longevity.
- The P1459 trim profile offers versatile application possibilities for both interiors and exteriors
- In exterior designs, it adds depth to facades by creating a visual border around villa windows and doors
- Thanks to its generous dimensions, it creates a monumental effect when framing the entrance doors of large commercial buildings, hotels, and residential projects
- It is also ideal for horizontal lines as mid-floor cornices separating building levels, or for creating vertical column effects
- Indoors, it serves as a decorative border element in high-ceilinged hall transitions, hotel lobbies, and restaurant door arches
- In wide corridors, it can be combined with wall panels to add dimension to the space
- For exterior applications, painting the product with a UV-protective exterior paint after installation is recommended to preserve its long-lasting structure
- Before installation, the application surface must be completely cleared of dust, dirt, and moisture
- The P1459 trim profiles are prepared with a 45-degree miter cut for corner joints
- Polure Polfix adhesive is applied to the back of the profiles, which are then pressed onto the wall
- Due to the product's voluminous and thick structure, mechanical fastening to the wall with screws is mandatory in addition to the adhesive
- Screw heads and joints are filled with high-quality exterior joint compound
- Once dry, the compound is sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- The factory-applied primer supports paint adhesion; however, applying an additional primer coat is optional based on the warranty standards of paint manufacturers
- In the final step, installation is completed by applying at least two coats of water-based paint for interiors or UV-resistant paint for exteriors
- Thanks to their closed-cell structure, polyurethane trim profiles are completely resistant to water and moisture
- Indoors, they can be easily cleaned using dusters or a damp cloth
- Abrasive chemicals, acidic cleaners, and stiff brushes should be avoided as they can damage the paint on the surface
- For exterior applications, cleaning can be done by spraying water, provided it is not high pressure
- To maintain the longevity and vibrancy of the exterior paint, the painted surface should be inspected once a year, and local paint touch-ups should be applied if necessary
