The P1470 architectural profile is a versatile design element engineered to create bold, defined lines on both interior and exterior walls. Perfect as a window trim (architrave) or a horizontal mid-stringer molding between floors, this profile adds depth and character to any surface. Unlike heavy traditional materials, its lightweight nature ensures quick installation, saving valuable time and labor costs on your projects.
Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this profile offers the hardness of wood while remaining exceptionally lightweight and highly impact-resistant. With a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it is completely impervious to moisture, rain, and humidity, preventing rotting, swelling, or cracking. It maintains its dimensional stability in all climates, withstanding temperatures from -20°C to +80°C.
The visual design features a flat, wide top fascia transitioning smoothly into an elegant S-profile curve in the center. The stepped, delicate lines along the bottom maximize light and shadow play, delivering a sharp, sophisticated aesthetic to the facade. With a height of 108 mm and a projection of 150 mm, it boasts a powerful volume that stands out beautifully, especially on large wall surfaces.
Highly versatile, this profile is the perfect choice for framing windows and doors on private villas, highlighting floor transitions on commercial buildings, or designing grand crown moldings in high-ceilinged classical living rooms. It is also ideal for hotel lobbies, restaurants, and historical restoration projects, preserving authentic aesthetics while offering modern durability.
For installation, the profile is miter-cut at 45 degrees and mounted onto a clean, dry surface using Polure Polfix adhesive. Mechanical fastening with screws is required to ensure a secure hold during curing. The product comes with a factory-applied primer, making it ready to paint. However, due to varying paint manufacturer warranties, applying an additional primer coat is optional and at the customer's discretion; Polure does not guarantee top-coat paint performance. For exterior applications, UV-resistant paint must be used.
Compared to fragile plaster or weak, textured EPS foam, this polyurethane profile stands out with its smooth surface finish and superior impact resistance. Easy to sand, putty, and repaint multiple times, it represents a long-term, maintenance-free, and prestigious investment for your property.
- The P1470 multi-purpose profile is an excellent choice for framing windows and doors (as architrave/trim) on large exterior facades and creating horizontal bands (mid-stringer molding) between floors
- With its prominent 150 mm projection, it adds depth and a strong character to neoclassical or modern villa facades
- Indoors, it can be used as a grand crown molding or cornice at the wall-to-ceiling transition in high-ceilinged living rooms, hotel lobbies, and prestigious office projects
- It can also serve as a decorative pediment over wide door openings
- The installation surface must be clean, dry, and smooth
- Cut the profile at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the joints and the mounting channels on the back of the product, then press it onto the surface
- Mechanical securing with screws or anchors is mandatory to prevent slipping during curing
- Cover screw heads and joints with high-quality exterior filler
- Once dry, sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- After an optional primer coat, apply at least two coats of UV-resistant paint for exteriors or water-based paint for interiors
- Polyurethane profiles are highly practical and virtually maintenance-free
- For interiors, they can be easily cleaned with a duster or a damp cloth
- For exteriors, they are suitable for pressure washing as they are waterproof and rot-resistant
- Avoid using harsh abrasive chemicals or wire brushes during cleaning
- To extend the lifespan of the paint on exterior installations, we recommend checking the painted surface every few years depending on climate conditions and repainting if necessary
