The P1477 is a wide-profile exterior moulding designed to add architectural depth to window and door surrounds, suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Blending the stepped lines of traditional architecture with modern manufacturing technology, this product brings a strong visual identity to building facades. It is highly favored in large-scale projects, on wide windows, or as horizontal belt courses (mid-band mouldings).
Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane, this profile offers a surface hardness comparable to wood with its 150-200 kg/m³ density, without adding unnecessary weight to the building structure. Measuring 177 mm in width, 2400 mm in length, and 715 mm in depth, it commands a grand, monumental presence. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, water absorption is virtually non-existent, making it completely resistant to moisture, rot, and insect infestation. It exhibits high dimensional stability against temperature fluctuations, preventing expansion or cracking.
The multi-stepped, sharp, and geometric cross-section of the profile enhances the play of light and shadow. The wide flat top and stepped transitions below are ideal for creating a striking contrast in both classic facade designs and modern minimalist buildings. Its factory-applied white primer coat provides a smooth surface that ensures excellent adhesion for the final topcoat. Please note that paint manufacturers may recommend an additional primer for their system warranties; this choice is entirely at the user's discretion.
Unlike plaster alternatives, this specialized polyurethane profile carries no risk of breakage, and compared to EPS foam products, it is highly impact-resistant, allowing for fast and waste-free installation on-site. For exterior applications, it must be coated with UV-resistant paint to protect it from the harmful effects of sunlight. Indoors, it can be utilized as a magnificent crown moulding at ceiling-to-wall transitions, particularly in high-ceilinged living rooms or spacious hallways.
The installation process begins by making 45-degree miter cuts on a clean, dry surface. Polure Polfix adhesive is applied to the back of the profile and the joints, then the profile is positioned on the surface and mechanically secured with screws. Once the screw heads and joints are filled with flexible exterior filler and sanded, the final topcoat of paint is applied. These simple steps yield a long-lasting, maintenance-free decorative finish.
- Thanks to its versatile design, the P1477 wide-profile moulding offers a broad range of applications for both interiors and exteriors
- On facades, it is highly preferred in villa and hotel projects as a window pediment or as a horizontal belt course between floors
- By framing large windows, it gives buildings a grand, monumental look
- Indoors, it serves as an excellent choice for crown moulding or indirect lighting profiles in high-ceilinged (over 4 meters) lobbies, restaurants, living rooms, or entrance halls
- Its wide projection also makes it ideal for concealing wall imperfections and creating a sense of depth
- The installation surface must be dry, clean, and level
- Precise 45-degree miter cuts for the corners of the P1477 profile are made using fine-toothed saws
- Polure Polfix adhesive is applied in strips to the back of the profile and the joint seams
- Once positioned on the wall, the product is mechanically secured with screws to prevent slipping during the adhesive's curing process
- Screw holes and joints are filled with a flexible exterior caulk
- Once dry, the filler is smoothed using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional additional primer coat, the installation is completed by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Thanks to the complete water and moisture resistance of polyurethane, cleaning is exceptionally practical
- For indoor applications, dusting with a damp cloth is sufficient
- For exteriors, an annual surface inspection is recommended, along with low-pressure water washing if needed
- In case of surface soiling or paint fading over time due to environmental factors, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted
- Abrasive, acidic, or heavy solvent-based chemical cleaners should be avoided, as they can damage the paint finish
