The P14D60 is a decorative profile manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane, designed to add depth and volume to building exteriors and high-ceilinged interior spaces. Serving as a modern alternative to traditional heavy and fragile building materials, this profile offers an elegant aesthetic for framing windows and doors. While enhancing the architectural character of facades, it also functions beautifully as a horizontal mid-floor cornice (string course).
In terms of technical specifications, the product features a height of 140 mm, a length of 2400 mm, and a striking depth (projection) of 385 mm. This substantial projection creates dramatic shadow play and a powerful sense of volume on the facade. With a density of 150-200 kg/m³, this rigid material offers a surface hardness comparable to wood, yet its lightweight nature ensures no additional static load is placed on the building structure. Thanks to its closed-cell structure with a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it remains unaffected by moisture and is completely rot-resistant. Furthermore, it maintains its dimensional stability under temperature fluctuations ranging from -20°C to +80°C, preventing expansion or cracking.
The profile design features a stepped transition inspired by classical architecture, highlighted by a soft S-curve (ogee) profile. Despite its voluminous appearance, the hollowed-out back design keeps the weight to a minimum, ensuring easy installation. Its smooth, flawless surface structure creates clean, sharp lines wherever applied. The factory-applied primer prepares the surface perfectly for the final painting stage.
Offering versatile application possibilities, this profile is highly favored for private villas, hotels, and prestigious public buildings as a window pediment, door crown, or mid-floor division band on exteriors. Indoors, its grand scale adds a luxurious touch to wall-to-ceiling transitions or decorative archways in spacious lobbies, restaurants, and high-ceilinged living rooms.
During installation, the profile is applied to a clean, dry surface and mitered at 45-degree angles for corner joints. Only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used for bonding. Due to the deep projection and safety requirements of the product, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory. Screw holes and joints are filled with exterior-grade putty, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, and then prepared for painting. Although the factory primer readies the surface, paint manufacturers often do not guarantee applications done without their own primers; thus, applying an additional primer is optional and left to the customer's preference. For exterior applications, a UV-resistant topcoat is mandatory.
- Thanks to its deep 38.5 cm projection, the P14D60 model is exceptionally suited for use as an exterior window pediment, door crown, or horizontal mid-floor cornice
- It adds a striking three-dimensional character to facades in villa projects, hotel entrances, and historic building restorations
- For interior decoration, it is preferred to frame arched transitions or create majestic wall panels in high-ceilinged living rooms, hotel lobbies, and grand restaurants
- Due to its fully waterproof and moisture-resistant nature, it can also be safely installed at ceiling joints in humid areas such as bathrooms or indoor pools
- The application surface must be completely free of dust and moisture
- The profile is cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw
- Polure Polfix adhesive is applied to the joint and bonding surfaces before positioning the profile on the wall
- Due to the product's deep projection, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure stability until the adhesive fully cures
- Screw heads and joints are filled with a suitable putty, and once dry, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Additional primer application is optional, based on the warranty conditions of the paint manufacturer
- Finally, the process is completed by applying two coats of water-based paint for interiors, or mandatory UV-resistant paint for exteriors
- Polyurethane window trim profiles feature a maintenance-free, long-lasting structure
- Indoors, they can be easily cleaned using a duster or a slightly damp cloth
- For exterior applications, the painted surface should be inspected once a year and cleaned if necessary
- Avoid using abrasive chemicals or stiff brushes
- Washing with low-pressure water is perfectly safe
