The P14D20 architectural profile is a premium facade element designed to create sharp, defined shadows around windows and doors, enhancing the visual appeal of any building. Developed to add depth to both classical and modern architectural projects, this profile offers superior durability while significantly reducing the load that traditional heavy materials place on the structure. It highlights the building's exterior contours, serving both an aesthetic purpose and a protective structural function.
The product features a projection of 49 mm, a height of 127 mm, and a standard length of 2400 mm. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (rigid PU) at 150-200 kg/m³, it boasts a surface hardness comparable to wood. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, ensuring it will not swell, crack, or rot even under heavy rain, snow, or high humidity. With outstanding dimensional stability, it withstands temperature fluctuations from -20°C to +80°C, maintaining its shape for years.
Visually, the design features a smooth curve following a flat, wide base, transitioning into a stepped upper profile. This unique geometry maximizes the play of light and shadow, lending an elegant presence to the facade. With its clean, minimalist yet striking lines, it seamlessly fits a wide range of designs, from modern villas to historical restoration projects. Compared to plaster alternatives, it is highly impact-resistant, eliminating waste due to breakage during transport and installation.
Its application is not limited to exterior windows. It can also be utilized for ceiling transitions in wide corridors, large frame designs in hotel lobbies, or even as interior door casings. The lightweight nature of the product allows for safe application on high-rise buildings. For outdoor applications, coating the material with UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent yellowing or degradation from sunlight.
During installation, the surface must be clean and dry. Profiles cut at 45-degree angles should be adhered to the substrate using Polure Polfix adhesive applied to the back. Mechanical fastening with screws is required for a secure installation. The product is shipped with a factory-applied primer, ready for painting; however, as paint manufacturers have varying primer standards, an additional coat of primer before the final coat is optional and left to the customer's preference. Once joints are filled with exterior-grade filler and sanded smooth, the process is completed with at least two coats of paint.
- This versatile trim profile has a wide range of applications in both interior and exterior spaces of residential and commercial buildings
- On exteriors, it is frequently preferred for framing villa windows, highlighting doorways, and creating horizontal transition lines (mid-band moldings) between floors
- For interior decoration, it can be used as a ceiling-to-wall cornice in high-ceilinged living rooms or to create wall panel frames in spacious hallways and entryways
- In hotel lobbies, restaurants, and office projects, it serves as a door casing to give doors a more substantial and prestigious look
- It can also be utilized as a decorative finishing element on top of garden walls or under balcony eaves
- The installation surface must be completely dry and free of dust and grease
- The profile is cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw according to the installation measurements
- Polure Polfix adhesive is applied to the back and joints of the profile before pressing it onto the surface
- Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure a secure and permanent bond
- Screw heads and joints are filled with flexible exterior-grade filler
- Once the filler dries, it is sanded smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- After applying an optional extra coat of primer, the profile is painted with at least two coats of UV-resistant paint for outdoors, or water-based/synthetic paint for indoors
- Cleaning the product is highly practical; it can be easily wiped down with a damp or wet cloth
- Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it is completely water-resistant and will not deform during cleaning
- Abrasive chemicals, acidic cleaners, and high-pressure water jets should not be applied directly to the surface
- For outdoor use, it is recommended to inspect the surface once a year and perform local paint touch-ups if necessary to extend the paint's lifespan and maintain its aesthetic appeal
