Installation
Polure Window Surrounds provide a straightforward, durable installation when the correct steps are followed. Before installation, make sure the substrate is clean, dry, sound and free of dust. Profiles should be cut to the dimensions required by the project, using accurate 45-degree mitre cuts at corners. High-strength polyurethane-based adhesives such as Polure Polfix should be used for bonding; silicone-based adhesives are not recommended. Apply adhesive evenly into the channels on the back of the profile, then press it firmly into position. For exterior applications, mechanical fixing with screws is required to ensure full adhesion and prevent movement. Fill all joints and screw locations with exterior-grade filler. Once dry, sand the filler carefully with 180–220 grit abrasive paper for a smooth finish. Complete the application with two coats of paint after priming: UV-resistant exterior paint for outdoor use, or water-based or synthetic paint for interiors.
