The PM40 is a high-profile facade and wall ornamentation element featuring embossed seashell and acanthus leaf motifs, which are classic hallmarks of traditional architecture. Designed to create a striking horizontal line above windows, door pediments, or between building floors, this product instantly adds three-dimensional depth and a timeless classical identity to any surface.
Crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (PU) with a density of 150-200 kg/m³, this profile offers a surface hardness comparable to wood while remaining lightweight to prevent structural load. Measuring 102 mm in depth, 1200 mm in length, and 366 mm in height, it delivers a perfectly balanced scale for high-ceilinged interiors and expansive exterior facades. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, providing complete protection against moisture, rain, and frost.
The visual design showcases symmetrically arranged wide palmettes and circular motifs ending in tapered, scalloped forms at the bottom. These intricate relief details create a dynamic play of light and shadow, bringing flat wall surfaces to life. Delivered with a factory-applied primer, the smooth surface ensures excellent adhesion for the final coat of paint.
This versatile product serves beautifully as a grand cornice at interior ceiling-to-wall transitions, or as a window pediment and belt course on villas and prestigious facades. Unlike fragile plaster alternatives or wood that decays from moisture, it can be safely installed on weather-exposed exteriors and in high-humidity interior spaces like bathrooms.
For installation, it is crucial that the surface is clean and dry. Polure Polfix adhesive must be used at joints and bonding points, supplemented by mechanical screw fixing for maximum durability. Once installed, screw holes and joints should be filled with a suitable putty, sanded smooth, and then painted. While the factory primer prepares the surface for painting, applying an additional primer coat remains optional based on paint manufacturer warranty requirements.
- With its prominent 36.6 cm height and classic embossed patterns, the PM40 model is a highly versatile architectural element
- On exteriors, it delivers outstanding results as villa window framing (trim), door pediment ornamentation, horizontal belt courses between floors, and under-eave cladding
- Indoors, it serves as a majestic cornice profile at ceiling-to-wall transitions in hotel lobbies, grand ballrooms, restaurants, and historical restorations
- Thanks to its complete water and moisture resistance, it is also an ideal decorative profile for poolside areas, indoor spas, and bathroom ceiling transitions
- The installation surface must be completely free of dust, grease, and dirt
- Profile ends should be miter-cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw
- During bonding, apply only Polure Polfix adhesive to the rear channels and joints (silicone adhesives must never be used)
- To prevent shifting during the drying process, the glued profiles must be mechanically secured to the wall using screws or nails
- Once dry, fill screw heads and joints with acrylic exterior putty, and sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper when dry
- Finally, apply at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint, ensuring UV resistance for exterior applications
- Thanks to its smooth and non-porous structure, polyurethane does not attract dust or dirt
- Cleaning is easily done with a damp cloth or mild, non-abrasive soapy water
- Avoid using pressurized water or abrasive scrubbing sponges
- For exterior applications, we recommend periodically checking the painted surface and repainting with UV-resistant paint when necessary to extend the lifespan of the finish
