The P1473 decorative exterior profile is a premium architectural element designed to add volume and depth to building facades with its generous dimensions and bold contours. It is highly preferred for enhancing structural character, particularly in window pediment applications, mid-floor cornices, and wide under-eave moldings. Adding a dynamic three-dimensional movement to both classical and modern architectural projects, it transforms ordinary wall surfaces into grand, monumental facades.
Measuring 240 mm in depth, 540 mm in height, and 2400 mm in length, this profile is ideal for large-scale projects. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), it offers the hardness of wood while remaining exceptionally lightweight, ensuring no structural load is added to the building. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it has a water absorption rate of under 1%, making it completely resistant to moisture and rot. Furthermore, it retains its shape perfectly within a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C and supports fire safety with its flame-retardant properties.
The wide concave curve of its design maximizes the interplay of light and shadow, creating a sophisticated sense of depth on the facade. The factory-applied primer prepares the surface for the final topcoat. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee surfaces outside of their own priming systems, applying an additional primer is optional and at the customer's discretion; our company does not assume responsibility for the paints used. To prevent yellowing on exterior surfaces, coating the profile with a UV-resistant paint after installation is mandatory.
With its versatile application range, this profile is perfect for crowning window and door frames in hotel lobbies, grand mansions, historic restorations, and spacious villa facades. Indoors, it can be utilized as a majestic crown molding or an indirect lighting cove in high-ceilinged halls and transition portals. Unlike fragile plaster alternatives or easily dented EPS foam, it provides long-lasting durability without cracking or crushing.
For installation, the application surface must first be clean and dry. Following 45-degree miter cuts, only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used at the joints; silicone-based adhesives must be strictly avoided. Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory. Once screw heads and joints are filled with joint compound and sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, the process is completed by applying two coats of paint.
- The P1473 wide-profile window trim and pediment product delivers outstanding results, particularly in large-scale exterior designs as window pediments and mid-floor cornices
- It lends a monumental character to the facades of spacious villas, hotel entrances, public buildings, and historical restoration projects
- Indoors, it can be used as a grand crown molding or an indirect LED lighting profile at the ceiling-to-wall transitions in high-ceilinged lobbies, spacious restaurants, and wedding halls
- The wide concave structure of the product also offers aesthetic depth as an over-door portal decoration in wide hall transitions
- It is recommended to paint it with UV-protective paint for outdoor use, and water-based interior paints for indoor applications
- The installation surface must be completely free of dust, moisture, and grease
- The profile is cut at 45-degree angles using a miter saw
- During the bonding phase, only Polure Polfix adhesive must be used; silicone adhesives should be avoided
- Due to its large dimensions, mechanically securing the product to the wall with screws is mandatory
- After installation is complete, screw holes and joints are filled with a high-quality exterior joint compound
- Once the compound dries, the surface is smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Optionally, after applying an additional primer, the process is completed with two coats of paint
- Thanks to its polyurethane composition, maintenance of the product is highly practical
- It can be easily cleaned using a damp cloth
- It is suitable for high-pressure water washing on exteriors; however, abrasive chemicals and stiff brushes should be avoided to prevent damaging the paint on the surface
- If localized damage occurs over the years due to external factors, it can be easily repaired with exterior filler, sanded, and spot-painted
