The P85401 decorative profile is a versatile architectural element designed to accentuate windows, doors, and wall transitions in both interior and exterior spaces. Combining traditional trim aesthetics with modern manufacturing technology, this product adds depth and character to any building. Featuring ideal proportions with a thickness of 49 mm and a profile width of 70 mm, it offers a modular and practical application with its 2400 mm length.
Manufactured from rigid, high-density (150-200 kg/m³) polyurethane, this profile offers a hardness comparable to wood while remaining remarkably lightweight. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, making it completely impervious to moisture, rain, and frost, and preventing rot or decay. It maintains its dimensional stability against temperature fluctuations ranging from -20°C to +80°C, preventing issues such as shrinkage, expansion, or cracking. Its flame-retardant properties also ensure safe integration into your projects.
The visual design features a rich profile cross-section where stepped straight lines blend elegantly with a graceful curve. The distinct stepped lines at the bottom are balanced by the circular curve at the top, bringing a beautiful play of light and shadow to the facade. These smooth, crisp lines are ideal for defining window borders in classical and neoclassical architecture, or for creating an aesthetic transition at ceiling-to-wall joints indoors.
Highly resistant to breakage compared to plaster alternatives, this product offers superior impact resistance unlike fragile materials like EPS styrofoam. Its lightweight structure does not add static load to buildings and ensures easy installation. The factory-primed surface facilitates the adhesion of the topcoat paint. However, since paint manufacturers do not provide warranties without their own primers, applying an additional primer before the topcoat is entirely at the user's discretion.
For exterior applications, it is mandatory to paint the raw material with a UV-resistant exterior paint to prevent yellowing under UV rays. During installation, 45-degree miter cuts must be made on clean and dry surfaces, using only Polure Polfix as the adhesive, along with mechanical screw fastening. Once joints and screw holes are filled with suitable filler and sanded, the painting process can begin.
- Thanks to its versatile design, the P85401 profile has a wide range of applications in both interior decoration and exterior architecture
- On exteriors, it is preferred as a key aesthetic element for window and door framing (trim/casing) in villas, hotels, residential, and restoration projects
- It is also highly suitable for creating horizontal floor division lines (cornices/mouldings) on facades or detailing under roof eaves
- Indoors, it can be used as an elegant cornice profile at ceiling-to-wall junctions in living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and spacious corridors
- Additionally, it is ideal for designing grand door casings or creating large-scale decorative wall frames (wainscoting panels)
- Its absolute resistance to water and moisture makes it safe for use on ceiling and wall details in humid environments like bathrooms, kitchens, spas, or indoor pools
- With the right choice of paint, it easily adapts to both modern and classical design concepts
- The installation surface must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust, moisture, and grease
- Profiles are cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw for corner joints
- Only Polure Polfix adhesive must be used for bonding; silicone-based adhesives should strictly be avoided
- After applying the adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure the product sits perfectly on the surface without slipping
- Screw heads should be slightly countersunk
- After installation, joints and screw holes are filled with flexible exterior filler
- Once the filler dries, the surface is smoothed using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- An optional additional primer can be applied over the factory primer for a smoother appearance and to comply with paint manufacturer warranties
- Finally, the process is completed by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint, which must be UV-resistant for outdoor applications
- This rigid polymer-based decorative profile requires minimal maintenance thanks to its closed-cell structure
- Indoors, it can be easily cleaned using a duster or a slightly damp, soft cloth
- Abrasive chemicals, strong acids, or stiff brushes that could damage the surface paint should not be used during cleaning
- For exterior applications, accumulated dust and dirt can be effortlessly washed off with low-pressure water from a distance or wiped down with soapy water
- Any minor damage or scratches caused by physical impacts can be easily repaired by filling, sanding, and spot-painting to restore its original appearance
