Column Base

A column base is the polyurethane base piece that seats at the lower end of a column shaft and connects the shaft to the floor. It is used to make the column appear seated on the floor and to provide visual continuity. The polyurethane base is lightweight and applied with installation adhesive to the floor and shaft; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Being lighter than a stone or gypsum base, it makes installation easier. Polure produces the column base in different diameters and profile options matched to the shaft diameter using moulds, with the profile detail repeating identically on every piece.
