Polyurethane Capital

A polyurethane capital is the decorative crowning element fitted to the top of a column or pilaster shaft, joining the column to the ceiling or arch. It is produced in forms suited to the classical Doric, Ionic and Corinthian orders and is used for column and half-column applications indoors and outdoors. Polyurethane is lightweight and applies directly to the shaft with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Because it is far lighter than a stone or plaster capital, installation is quick and can be handled by one person. As it is mould-cast, the leaf and volute details repeat identically on every piece.
