Pilaster

A pilaster is a half or flat polyurethane column element that projects slightly from the wall and represents a structural column. It is used decoratively on facades and in interiors to divide a wall and to emphasise the area around doors and windows. It consists of a shaft, a base and a capital. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied directly to the wall with adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Compared with plaster, the risk of breakage is low; compared with wood, it stands up to damp. Because it is moulded, the fluting and profile details repeat identically on every piece.
