Can polyurethane pilaster columns be used on exteriors?

Yes, because the P5015WP pilaster column is made of polyurethane with a closed-cell structure, it is suitable for humid areas and harsh weather conditions. It can be safely used on exteriors. However, to prevent solar UV rays from damaging and yellowing the material, it must be painted with a high-quality, UV-resistant exterior paint after installation.

Which adhesive should be used for installation, and can silicone be used?

Silicone adhesive should absolutely not be used for installation. For a secure and long-lasting bond, Polure Polfix adhesive, which is specially developed for these profiles, must be used. Additionally, due to the weight and safety of the product, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory in addition to the adhesive.

Can the product be used directly without being painted?

No, although the product comes from the factory coated with a white protective primer, it is not recommended to use it unpainted. Especially outdoors, unpainted PU material can yellow over time. Furthermore, to achieve a flawless look and conceal screw heads and joint filler marks, it is essential to apply at least two coats of paint after installation.

What are its advantages compared to plaster or wood columns?

Polyurethane pilaster columns are extremely lightweight and shatterproof compared to plaster alternatives, meaning they do not add load to the building structure and are easy to transport. Compared to wood products, they resist moisture and are resistant to rot and moisture-related deterioration. They resist swelling and cracking, and offer a much higher level of detail quality.

Are the dimensions of the P5015WP pilaster column suitable for every space?

The P5015WP model has a width of 15 cm, a depth of 3.1 cm, and a height of 240 cm. Thanks to its 240 cm height, it can be applied as a full-length piece in most interiors with standard ceiling heights without requiring any cutting. If needed, it can be easily shortened using wood-cutting tools or stacked modularly for use on higher ceilings.
