The P5050WP wall panel design is a flat-surfaced decorative pilaster element developed to accentuate vertical lines in both interior and exterior architectural spaces. Combining the grandeur of classical architecture with modern manufacturing technology, this product adds depth and structural character to applied surfaces. It is particularly ideal for dividing expansive wall areas or framing doorways with an elegant aesthetic.
Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure. Unlike fragile plaster, it does not crack, and it won't warp or swell when exposed to moisture, maintaining its shape for years. With a thickness of 50 mm, a width of 50.2 cm, and a height of 240 cm, it can be easily installed as a seamless, single-piece element in standard-height rooms.
The visual design features a striking recessed center panel. This flat-shaft panel structure is framed by stepped inner profiles, creating a beautiful play of light and shadow. Its clean, smooth surface texture delivers a sophisticated, uncluttered look that fits seamlessly into both neo-classical and minimalist modern designs. For a complete column appearance, it can be paired with matching bases and capitals.
Boasting a wide range of applications, this panel is highly favored in diverse projects ranging from residential living rooms and hotel lobbies to villa facades and restaurant entrances. With a water absorption rate below 1%, it can be safely installed in humid areas like bathrooms or on exterior walls exposed to rain. For outdoor applications, coating the material with UV-resistant paint extends its lifespan against sun exposure.
A clean, dry surface is essential for installation. Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the product, position it on the wall, and secure it mechanically with screws. Once the joints and screw heads are filled and sanded, the surface is ready for painting. Although the factory-applied primer provides a paint-ready surface, applying an extra coat of primer is optional, depending on the paint manufacturer's warranty terms.
- Thanks to its wide design, the P5050WP pilaster column offers versatile applications for both interiors and exteriors
- Indoors, it is ideal for creating symmetrical wall divisions in living rooms, framing fireplaces, designing backdrop panels behind headboards, or establishing a vertical rhythm in spacious hallways
- Outdoors, it can be positioned as vertical columns flanking entrance doors, combined with window moldings, or used between floor cornices to add a dynamic column effect to the facade
- It can be safely installed in all high-humidity areas, including wet rooms, with good resistance to rotting
- The application surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust or debris
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive in strips to the back of the product
- To prevent slippage and ensure safety, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory
- Fill screw holes and joints with a suitable joint compound
- Once dry, sand the filled areas smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- The product comes with a factory-applied protective primer; however, applying an additional primer coat is entirely optional and depends on the paint manufacturer's warranty terms
- Complete the installation by applying at least two coats of paint
- Thanks to its smooth surface, the product does not accumulate dust, making cleaning highly practical
- It can be wiped periodically with a damp cloth
- Avoid using abrasive acids or harsh chemical solvents during cleaning
- For exterior applications, we recommend inspecting the surface once a year and refreshing the paint if necessary, depending on its condition
- Painted surfaces can be washed with low-pressure water
Will the P5050WP pilaster column be affected by rain or sun when used outdoors?
Since the product is made of rigid polyurethane with a closed-cell structure, it has a water absorption rate below 1%, meaning it won't swell or rot from rain, snow, or moisture. To protect it from the yellowing effects of UV rays, it must be coated with a UV-resistant topcoat paint for exterior applications.
Is it sufficient to use only adhesive during installation?
No, adhesive alone is not enough. To ensure the product remains securely and permanently on the wall, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory in addition to using Polure Polfix adhesive. This step ensures the material is fully locked onto the surface.
Can the product be used directly in white without being painted?
The product comes with a factory-applied white primer. However, this primer does not function as a final coat and may get dirty or yellow over time due to environmental factors. Therefore, we highly recommend applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint after installation.
What are the advantages of this product compared to plaster or wood alternatives?
Polyurethane pilasters are much lighter than plaster and highly impact-resistant. Unlike wood, they do not attract insects, warp or twist due to moisture, or crack over time. Additionally, the installation process is much faster, cleaner, and more practical.
How can I shorten the 240 cm height to fit my own wall?
The product can be easily worked on just like wood. Using a standard miter saw or a fine-toothed hand saw, you can easily cut it to the required dimensions for your project and adjust the top and bottom sections as desired.
