The P14D50 decorative facade element is specially engineered for exterior window and door framing (architraves) as well as creating horizontal transitions (belt courses) between floors. Indoors, it serves as a grand crown molding or ceiling cornice, beautifully defining vertical boundaries in high-ceilinged, majestic spaces. Adding depth and architectural character to any surface, this profile seamlessly blends classic design lines with modern manufacturing technology.
This profile features a depth of 110 mm (projection from the wall), a height of 320 mm, and a length of 2400 mm. Manufactured from high-density (150-220 kg/m³) rigid polyurethane, it offers durability and impact resistance comparable to wood while remaining exceptionally lightweight compared to traditional concrete or plaster elements. Its closed-cell structure prevents water absorption almost entirely, allowing it to withstand harsh outdoor conditions like rain, snow, and frost without cracking, shrinking, or warping.
The visual design features a soft concave S-curve at the top, followed by clean stepped transitions and a rounded drip edge detail at the bottom. This tiered surface geometry creates a dramatic play of light and shadow on the facade, giving buildings a monumental and prestigious look. The factory-applied white protective primer ensures that the final coat of paint adheres smoothly and evenly to the surface.
Include the product weight and fixing loads when assessing the substrate and supporting structure. Far more durable than fragile EPS foam materials, it offers high impact resistance and can be easily sanded or filled if needed. It maintains its pristine shape for years in both luxury residential projects and prestigious interiors like hotel lobbies.
For installation, Polure Polfix adhesive is applied to a clean, dry surface before positioning the profile. Due to its large cross-section, mechanical fastening with steel screws is required to prevent slippage until the adhesive fully cures. While the factory primer provides a paint-ready surface, applying an additional primer is optional and at the customer's discretion, as paint manufacturers often recommend their own primers. For exterior applications, a UV-resistant topcoat exterior paint must be used to protect against sun exposure.
- This large-profile window trim and belt course molding is ideal for adding dimension and character to facades, especially in large-scale architectural projects
- It is widely used on the exteriors of private villas, hotels, mansions, and prestigious business centers to crown windows, define door frames, and create horizontal lines between floors
- Thanks to its wide 320 mm surface, it creates a distinct sense of depth even on high-rise buildings
- Indoors, it can be installed as magnificent crown molding (cornices) in living rooms with ceiling heights of 3 meters or more, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and ballrooms
- It is also an excellent choice for decorative fireplace surrounds or as a border to define large wall panels
- Ensure the installation surface is smooth, dry, and free of dust
- Profile corners should be precisely cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw
- For bonding, apply Polure Polfix adhesive exclusively to the back of the profile
- Due to the product's bulky size, mechanical fastening to the wall with steel anchors or screws is mandatory to prevent slipping or flexing while the adhesive cures
- Joints and screw heads should be filled with exterior-grade putty, then sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper once dry
- An optional extra primer coat can be applied before finishing with two coats of UV-resistant exterior paint
- Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane, this profile performs well in humid conditions
- This makes cleaning extremely practical; it can be wiped with a damp cloth or washed with low-pressure water
- Avoid using abrasive chemicals or stiff brushes that could scratch the surface
- For exterior applications, we recommend inspecting the surface once a year and clearing away dust to preserve the lifespan of the paint
- In case of minor impacts or scratches, the area can be easily restored to its original look by applying local filler, sanding lightly, and touching up with paint
Will this window trim be affected by rain or sun on the exterior?
Since our product has a closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%. It is completely unaffected by outdoor elements like rain, snow, and moisture, and it will not rot. To protect it from the yellowing effects of UV rays, it must be painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint after installation.
Is adhesive alone sufficient for installation?
Since the P14D50 model has large and bulky dimensions (110x320 mm), using adhesive alone is not enough. Polure Polfix should be used for bonding, and mechanical fastening with steel screws is required to ensure stability until the adhesive fully cures.
What are the advantages compared to plaster or concrete trims?
Plaster and concrete trims are very heavy, adding structural load to the building and making installation labor-intensive. Polyurethane trim is extremely lightweight, making it easy to transport and install. Assess water and moisture exposure using the product technical data, surface finish and installation details.
Is an additional primer coat required before painting?
The product is shipped from our factory with a white protective primer applied and is ready for painting. However, since paint manufacturers often recommend their own primers, applying an additional primer is entirely optional and up to the customer. Polure does not provide warranties regarding paint applications.
Can it be used as crown molding in interior spaces?
Yes, it can be used as an elegant and majestic crown molding at the ceiling-to-wall transitions, especially in high-ceilinged living rooms, hotel lobbies, and restaurants. Its wide profile adds a classic richness to any space.
