Wood-Look Polyurethane Log Models
A polyurethane log is a hollow rigid polyurethane profile moulded from the texture of a solid timber log. It gives a genuine log appearance on ceilings and walls and, being hollow, can be lifted to the ceiling by one person and fixed with adhesive and screws. The Polure range covers nine sections from , a 3 metre standard length, plus an end cap and bracket for every section.

Comparison with a solid timber log
| Criterion | Polyurethane log | Solid timber log |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | Hollow; one person can lift it to the ceiling | Heavy; needs a crane or several people |
| Cracking / movement | Does not take up moisture, dimensionally stable | Cracks and twists as it dries |
| Insects / rot | Not organic; no infestation or rot | Needs treatment and maintenance |
| Water absorption | Below 1% (closed cell) | High; must be protected outdoors |
| Fire | B2 flame retardant (phosphorus based) | Combustible; requires impregnation |
| Installation | PU adhesive + screws; cut with a fine-tooth saw | Heavy cutting, structural preparation |
| Load bearing | Decorative, carries NO load | Can carry structural load |
| Surface | Factory primed; ready for wood-effect paint | Sanding plus varnish or paint process |
Completing parts: end caps and brackets
| Component | Example code and size | Function |
|---|---|---|
| End cap (log end) | P1981JKA 47×53×30 mm → P1981DKA 300×340×26 mm | Closes the cut end and hides the hollow section |
| Bracket / support | P1981JK 50×52×69 mm → P1981GK1 263×272×895 mm | Seats the log on the wall, gives a load-bearing look |
| Closing block | P1981AKA 65×94×30 mm | Caps slim rafter ends |
| Rustic wheel | P1950 860×860×175 mm | Wall focal piece completing the log scheme |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a polyurethane log?
A hollow rigid polyurethane profile moulded from the texture of a solid timber log. It gives a genuine log appearance on ceilings and walls and carries no structural load.
Which sizes are available?
Sections of 50×50, 80×80, 100×100, 120×120, 133×133 (corner), 150×306, 200×200, 200×250 and 255×260 mm, all in a 3 metre standard length.
Is it hollow, and how heavy is it?
It is hollow, and because rigid polyurethane has a density of 150-220 kg/m³ (production target ~160 kg/m³) one person can lift and hold it at the ceiling. It adds no static load to the building.
How does it differ from a real timber log?
It does not absorb moisture so it neither cracks nor twists, it is not organic so there is no infestation or rot, it absorbs less than 1% water, it is B2 flame retardant and one person can install it.
How is it fixed to the ceiling?
A PU-based mounting adhesive is applied in an uninterrupted bead, the part is cross-screwed, and screw heads are sunk and filled. Silicone-based adhesive is never used.
How is it cut?
With a fine-tooth hand saw or a mitre saw, using 45° mitres at corners. The material is too dense for a utility knife.
How is the wood appearance achieved?
The texture comes from the mould; the colour comes from the topcoat and patina. The factory primer is white and is a technical base for adhesion, not a finish.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes: it absorbs less than 1% water and is dimensionally stable between -100 °C / +80 °C. Outdoors it must be sealed with an elastic, UV-resistant facade paint.
Does the log end stay open?
No. An end cap is produced in the same size for every section, and a bracket is used where the log meets the wall.
How is the price determined?
Log profiles are priced per 3 metre piece, with end caps and brackets as separate items. The price covers the product only and goods are ex-works. Quotations are free and valid for 7 days.
