The P1981FKA decorative polyurethane beam end cap is a complementary architectural element designed to cover the exposed ends of faux wood logs, rafters, and beams used in ceiling and wall designs. Replicating natural wood grain and cross-sectional growth rings with lifelike accuracy, this product creates a seamless rustic continuity in any space. It offers a practical decorative alternative by eliminating the heavy weight, cracking, and maintenance challenges associated with real wood.
Manufactured from high-density (150-200 kg/m³) rigid polyurethane, this product serves as an ideal end cap and filler plate with its 162x162 mm surface dimensions and 35 mm thickness. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, preventing swelling, rotting, or molding in humid environments. Highly stable against temperature fluctuations between -20°C and +80°C, it retains its shape without shrinking or expanding.
The visual design features the growth rings, natural cracks, and knots of an aged log's cross-section, rendered with realistic three-dimensional depth. The product is delivered with a factory-applied primer coat, which enhances the adhesion of the final paint layer. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications without their own primers, applying an additional primer before installation is entirely at the user's discretion; Polure assumes no responsibility for the performance of applied paints.
Thanks to its lightweight structure, it adds no extra load to ceilings. It is highly resistant to breakage compared to plaster alternatives, and far harder, more impact-resistant, and more detailed than EPS foam materials. It can be safely used both indoors and on exterior facades after applying appropriate paint finishes.
- The P1981FKA polyurethane beam end cap is used to cover the exposed ends of decorative beams, rafters, and log profiles in ceiling designs
- It provides an aesthetic finish at the termination points of ceiling beams in chalets, rustic restaurants, authentic cafes, hotel lobbies, and winter garden ceilings
- It is also preferred on the edges of decorative wooden mantel shelves or on the ends of corbels used under exterior eaves
- For outdoor applications, it must be coated with a UV-resistant exterior paint to protect it from the damaging effects of sunlight
- The application surface must be completely free of dust, dirt, and moisture
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the back of the beam end cap and place it onto the mounting surface
- For a secure and permanent bond, the product must be mechanically supported with screws until the adhesive cures
- Fill screw heads and joints with a suitable filler
- Once dry, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Complete the installation by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint, following an optional additional primer coat if desired
- The polyurethane beam end cap can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth
- Avoid using abrasive acids or harsh chemical solvents during cleaning
- For outdoor installations, inspect the surface periodically and repaint if necessary to maintain UV resistance
- Direct washing with high-pressure water is not recommended
