Door Casing

A door casing is a polyurethane profile set that frames the side and top edges of a doorway. It is mounted vertically on the two sides of the door and horizontally along the top lintel, enclosing the opening within an architectural frame. At interior and exterior door entrances it serves both as ornament and to neaten the transition between the door jamb and the wall. The polyurethane material is light and applies directly with assembly adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. It is lighter than plaster and, unlike wood, unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the profile details repeat identically on every piece.
