The P2837 decorative pediment model is an exquisite architectural element designed to transform transitional spaces, such as door and window headers, into stunning focal points. Suitable for both interior design and exterior facade projects, this product adds depth and character to plain wall surfaces or standard window moldings.
With technical dimensions of 770 mm in width, 450 mm in height, and 140 mm in depth, this model features a remarkably bold and prominent profile. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), it offers a surface hardness comparable to wood while remaining lightweight for easy installation. The closed-cell structure of the material keeps water absorption below 1%, providing superior resistance against moisture and rot.
Visually, the design features a striking scallop shell (fan) motif that opens symmetrically upward from the center. These classic relief patterns merge with elegantly curved scroll (volute) forms at the bottom corners, bringing the finest details of Neoclassical and Baroque architecture together with modern manufacturing quality.
Offering a wide range of applications, this pediment can be used indoors above fireplaces, atop large mirror frames, or at the entrances of prestigious spaces like hotel lobbies. On exteriors, it serves as a majestic header complementing the keystone effect above villa windows. For outdoor applications, coating the material with UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect it from sun damage.
During installation, Polure Polfix adhesive should be applied to the cleaned surface, and the product must be mechanically supported with screws until dry. Although the factory-applied primer prepares the surface for painting, any additional priming is entirely at the customer's discretion due to paint manufacturers' warranty conditions. Unlike plaster alternatives, this durable decorative element does not crack or break, offering a practical solution that adds value to any building.
- The P2837 pediment model offers a wide range of applications for both interior and exterior designs
- Indoors, it is preferred to create focal points above door frames in classic living room layouts, in spacious entryways and hallway transitions, in wall paneling designs behind headboards, and above fireplaces
- It can also be used as a crowning element atop large gilded mirror frames or custom bookcases
- On exteriors, it is positioned as a keystone or decorative pediment above window moldings in villas, mansions, hotels, and prestigious residential projects
- For exterior use, coating the product with UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect it from sunlight
- The installation surface must be dry, clean, and free of dust
- Apply high-strength Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the product and press it onto the surface
- Due to the product's volume and weight, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory until the adhesive fully cures
- Screw holes and any joint lines are filled with acrylic or exterior-grade putty
- Once the putty dries, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- An optional additional coat of primer can be applied over the factory primer according to the instructions of your preferred paint brand, followed by at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- The polyurethane pediment can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth
- Avoid using chemical abrasives, acidic cleaners, or stiff brushes
- Since its water absorption rate is below 1%, it is completely unaffected by water and moisture, preventing swelling or rotting
- Indoors, it maintains its original form for many years without requiring repainting
- For exterior applications, due to exposure to weather and sunlight, the painted surface should be inspected annually and touched up with UV-protective paint if necessary
Will it be affected by rain and sun when used outdoors?
No, since the water absorption rate of polyurethane is below 1%, it is completely unaffected by rain, moisture, and snow, and it will not rot. However, unpainted polyurethane can yellow over time. Therefore, when used on exteriors, it must be painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint.
Which adhesive should I use for installation?
For a secure and long-lasting installation, only Polure Polfix adhesive should be used. Silicone-based adhesives are not suitable for polyurethane installation. Additionally, mechanically securing the product to the surface with screws is mandatory for a safe application.
Can the product be used directly without painting? Or is a primer required?
Our product is shipped from the factory with a white primer coating. However, painting is required for aesthetic appeal and protection against external elements. The factory primer facilitates paint adhesion; however, applying an additional primer is entirely up to the customer's preference due to the warranty conditions of paint manufacturers.
What are the advantages compared to plaster pediment models?
Polyurethane pediments are extremely lightweight compared to plaster alternatives and do not break or crack. The risk of damage during transport and installation is minimal. Additionally, with its moisture-resistant structure, it can be safely used in wet areas like bathrooms and on exterior facades.
Are the dimensions of the P2837 model suitable for every door and window?
The P2837 model is a very bold and prominent design, measuring 77 cm in width and 45 cm in height. It offers an aesthetic proportion above standard single-leaf doors or wide windows. For narrower or wider spaces, we recommend checking the scale according to your project's dimensions.
