Door Crowning

Door crowning refers to emphasising a door entrance from the top by applying a crown (pediment) piece above the door. With a polyurethane crown mounted on the casing or directly onto the wall, the door gains a symmetrical, framed appearance. It is carried out at interior and exterior door entrances for classical, neoclassical and orderly facade looks. The polyurethane material is light and applies directly with assembly adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. Being lighter than plaster makes installation at high points easier, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the crown details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces the crown pieces used for door crowning in a range of sizes and forms.
