Classic Fluted Polyurethane Column Shaft Model

Designed to emphasize the strength and order of vertical lines in architectural projects, the P5850 decorative column shaft combines classical design tradition with modern material technology. Featuring a circular form with a width and depth of 500 mm, this structural element offers a well-proportioned and balanced appearance in both interiors and exteriors with its height of 2400 mm. The vertical fluting details on its surface enhance light and shadow transitions, adding depth to any space.

The product is manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane raw material (150-200 kg/m³). This density level provides the product with a surface strength comparable to wood, while keeping it exceptionally lightweight compared to plaster or concrete alternatives. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, ensuring complete resistance to moisture, rot, and insect infestation. Structurally, it features dimensional stability that prevents shrinkage, expansion, or cracking.

Looking at its visual design, the symmetrical fluted channels surrounding the column surface immediately draw attention. These vertical grooves reflect the structural aesthetics of classical antique column architecture. Delivered with a factory-applied primer, the surface provides a ready-to-paint base for the final coat. For exterior applications, the use of UV-resistant paints is mandatory to protect against sunlight; unpainted surfaces may yellow over time. Although the factory primer facilitates paint adhesion, applying an additional primer is optional and left to the user's preference in accordance with paint manufacturers' warranty terms. Polure is not responsible for any surface reactions that may occur after painting.

Offering versatile usage in large-scale projects, this product is preferred in prestigious areas such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, wedding halls, and villa entrances. It can be used to wrap around existing reinforced concrete load-bearing columns for an aesthetic look or to create a decorative portal. By combining it with suitable Doric or Corinthian style column capitals and bases, a cohesive architectural composition can be achieved.

During installation, it should be positioned on a clean and dry surface and secured using Polure Polfix adhesive. For a safe and long-lasting application, mechanical screwing is mandatory in addition to gluing. Once the screw heads and joints are sealed with a suitable filler and sanded, the painting process can begin. Unlike heavy concrete columns, it does not add structural load to the building and allows for rapid installation.
