The P2001D123VO curved arch element is a premium decorative moulding designed to soften straight lines above doors and windows, creating elegant circular forms. Bringing the vaulted and arched transitions of traditional architecture into modern living spaces, this specialized polyurethane architectural element adds depth to both interior designs and exterior facades. Whether defining wall niches, hallway transitions, or facade windows, this curved profile establishes an aesthetic boundary, elevating the overall space with a more structured and sophisticated look.
Featuring a 27 mm wall thickness, a 926 mm circular span, and a 259 mm arch height, this product offers perfectly balanced proportions for medium-sized openings. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this curved arch delivers surface durability comparable to wood while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, it is fully resistant to moisture, humidity, and water, with a water absorption rate below 1%. This ensures the material will not rot, swell, or lose its shape over time, even under harsh outdoor weather conditions.
With its smooth and clean surface texture, this curved profile is ideal for projects that favor crisp, fluid lines over intricate ornamentation. As shown in the visuals, the circular and stepped contours of the profile's cross-section play with light and shadow, creating a three-dimensional depth on wall surfaces. Delivered with a factory-applied white primer, the yellowish backing layer of this polyurethane product represents its high-density core. With the elegance of simplicity, it seamlessly integrates into both classic and minimalist modern decor styles.
Unlike traditional plaster materials, this curved decorative element carries no risk of cracking or breaking, offering great ease of handling during and after installation. It does not warp or attract pests like wood alternatives, nor is it prone to denting like fragile EPS foam. Also contributing to thermal and acoustic insulation, this durable architectural component provides a highly cost-effective alternative for long-term projects, as it is exceptionally durable and can be easily repaired or sanded if needed.
The surface comes pre-primed from the factory, designed to facilitate excellent adhesion for the topcoat. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications done without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat after installation is entirely at the user's discretion. Polure does not accept liability for surface issues arising from paint application. For exterior applications, UV-resistant exterior paints must be used to prevent the material from yellowing over time.
- Thanks to its versatile design, this curved arch model is widely used in both interior and exterior applications
- On exterior facades, it is highly favored as a decorative window arch (architrave arch), particularly above the windows of prestigious buildings like villas, mansions, and hotels
- By crowning straight window frames with a circular curve, it adds a classic character to the facade
- Indoors, it offers an ideal solution for softening wide door openings in living rooms, hallways, and entryways, beautifully complementing door casings with a decorative arch
- It can also be used to define the upper borders of decorative wall niches, fireplace surrounds, or circular headboard panels
- Additionally, when joined end-to-end with straight wall borders and architrave profiles, it serves as an elegant corner transition element, allowing straight lines to flow into a soft, graceful curve
- Installation must be carried out on a clean, dry, and smooth surface
- First, thoroughly clear the application area of dust and debris
- Align the curved arch profile with the installation area, miter-cutting the ends at a 45-degree angle if necessary
- For bonding, only Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive must be used; silicone-based adhesives should strictly be avoided
- Apply the adhesive to the back of the product and the joint seams, then position it on the wall
- To ensure the material is fully secured and does not slip, mechanical fastening with stainless steel screws is mandatory
- Fill screw heads and joint gaps with high-quality acrylic filler
- Once dry, smooth the surface using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional primer coat based on the paint manufacturer's recommendation, complete the installation by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the polyurethane curved arch is highly resistant to water and moisture, making maintenance exceptionally easy
- For surface cleaning, simply use a damp, soft microfiber cloth and mild, non-abrasive soapy water
- Avoid acidic, alcohol-based, or harsh chemical solvents during cleaning
- For exterior applications, the surface can be rinsed with high-pressure washers to remove dust and environmental buildup
- To extend the lifespan of outdoor paint and protect against the harmful effects of UV rays, we recommend inspecting the painted surface annually and refreshing the protective topcoat as needed
