The P2001D285VO curved arch element is a polyurethane architectural component designed to create elegant circular contours around doors, windows, and transitional spaces. By softening sharp, angular lines to add depth to any space, this decorative molding beautifully completes circular transitions in both interior and exterior designs.
Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this product features a thickness of 2.7 cm, an arc length of 105.4 cm, and a rise height of 20.8 cm, making it ideal for medium-sized arch designs. Compared to traditional plaster alternatives, it is exceptionally lightweight and shatter-resistant. Unlike wood, it will not rot, warp, or attract pests when exposed to moisture. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below 1%, maintaining dimensional stability in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
Featuring a clean, smooth surface texture, the profile's stepped edges and seamless central curve create a subtle yet distinct play of light and shadow. This minimalist profile design effortlessly complements a wide range of architectural styles, from neoclassical elegance to modern minimalism.
Highly versatile, this curved molding is frequently used for framing arched windows on exterior facades. Indoors, it is perfect for creating hallway arches, framing decorative niches, designing curved accent walls behind headboards, or detailing fireplace surrounds. For exterior applications, applying a UV-resistant topcoat is mandatory to protect against sunlight degradation.
During installation, Polure Polfix adhesive should be applied to a clean surface, followed by mechanical fastening with screws. Once joints and screw holes are filled with putty and sanded smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper, the surface is ready for painting. The product is shipped with a factory-applied white primer; however, since paint manufacturers may not guarantee finishes without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat before the final paint is optional and left to the user's discretion.
Providing a long-lasting solution for both interior and exterior spaces, this curved profile significantly reduces labor time due to its ease of installation. Unlike heavy concrete or fragile plaster moldings, it carries no risk of breakage during installation, offering a major advantage on construction sites. When properly installed, it retains its shape and durability for the lifetime of the building, minimizing long-term maintenance costs.
- This versatile curved arch profile is widely used in both interior and exterior designs
- Externally, it is primarily utilized for framing the upper arches of curved windows and doors
- Indoors, it is perfect for creating circular hallway arches in living rooms and entryways, designing elegant curved wall panels behind headboards in bedrooms, and framing decorative wall niches
- Additionally, it is ideal for creating a classic or neoclassical ambiance in hotel lobbies, restaurants, and office transitions
- It can also be combined with straight molding profiles to create modular frames
- The installation surface must be dry, clean, and free of dust
- After cutting the profile ends to the required angles, apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the back and press it onto the surface
- Since this is a curved and substantial piece, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory during installation
- Fill screw heads and joints with an exterior-grade putty, and once dry, sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- After an optional extra primer coat, paint with a UV-resistant topcoat
- Since the polyurethane curved arch is fully resistant to moisture, water, and rot, maintenance is extremely easy
- For indoor applications, it can be periodically cleaned with a damp cloth
- For outdoor installations, it can be washed with high-pressure water
- We recommend avoiding harsh acidic chemicals during cleaning and checking the condition of the exterior paint every few years
