Rustic Wood Rafter

A rustic wood rafter is a hollow polyurethane beam element that imitates the look of aged, rough-textured timber and is placed beneath roofs and ceilings. It is used to give the impression of an exposed structural member in sloped attics, under ceilings and in porches. The polyurethane material is hollow and lightweight; it is mounted onto the existing ceiling or a real wood frame over a screwed support batten and, unlike heavy real timber, can be carried by one person. It resists moisture and impact, does not rot, crack or attract insects and can be painted in wood tones. Because the knot and grain texture on its surface is mould-produced, it repeats realistically on every part. Polure produces the rustic wood rafter in different width and length options.
