Specially developed for wide-span transition areas and grand facade designs, this polyurethane curved arch profile is an architectural element that adds depth to building entrances and windows. Thanks to its large-scale circular form, it offers an aesthetic frame that supports structural integrity in both interior partitions and exterior facade decorations. Combining the round contours of classical architecture with modern production technology, this profile is ideal for elegantly crowning wide openings.
The product is manufactured using high-density rigid polyurethane raw material with a density of 150-200 kg/m³. This high density provides the product with a surface durability comparable to wood, while offering a lightweight structure that ensures ease of installation and transport. Measuring 193 mm in width, 4605 mm in arc length, and 2302 mm in vertical height, this massive arch features a closed-cell structure with a water absorption rate of less than 1%. Consequently, it perfectly maintains its form without expanding, shrinking, cracking, or warping under temperature fluctuations between -20°C and +80°C.
Its visual design features a smooth, stepped, and curved profile structure. Thanks to precision mold technology, the surface lines are exceptionally sharp and clean. The product is shipped from the factory pre-primed with a special white surface primer. This primer coat enhances the adhesion of the topcoat paint. However, since paint manufacturers do not offer warranties for applications done without their own primers, applying an additional primer before or after installation is entirely at the user's discretion. Polure does not assume responsibility for the performance of subsequently applied paints.
This model is highly preferred for main entrance doors of large-scale villas, wide arched transitions in hotel lobbies, historical restoration projects, and partition walls of high-ceilinged halls. It can also be safely used on exterior facades as a curved lintel frame over wide windows. Thanks to its lightweight nature, it does not add extra static load to the building's load-bearing system like its concrete or stone counterparts, offering a significant advantage for seismic safety.
During installation, Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive must be applied to the cleaned and dry surface, followed by mechanical fastening to the wall with screws. Silicon-based adhesives must strictly be avoided. Once screw holes and joints are filled with flexible filler and smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper, the painting process can begin. Since unpainted products may yellow over time, using a UV-resistant topcoat paint is mandatory, especially for exterior applications.
- This round curved arch is a versatile decorative element classified under architectural moldings and facade cladding
- Due to its grand dimensions, it is primarily used above villa entrance doors, as framing in circular transition corridors of large hotel lobbies, and around restaurant or store display windows
- Indoors, it is preferred for creating depth in arched passages dividing high-ceilinged living rooms, hallway entrances, and wide niche designs
- When applied as a curved lintel above windows on exterior facades, it lends a classic and prestigious look to the building, showing high resistance to all harsh weather conditions when coated with a suitable exterior paint
- Ensure that the curved surface to be installed is completely dry, clean, and free of dust
- Polure Polfix adhesive is applied in strips to the back of the arch surface
- Once aligned and placed on the wall, the product must be mechanically secured using screws or nails to prevent slipping during the drying process (screw fastening is mandatory)
- After the adhesive dries, screw heads and joints are filled with acrylic exterior filler
- Once the filler is dry, the surface is smoothed using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional primer application, the installation is completed by applying at least two coats of water-based paint for interiors or UV-resistant topcoat paint for exteriors
- For polyurethane arches used indoors, dusting with a soft, damp cloth is sufficient
- Abrasive chemical cleaners or harsh sponges that could damage the surface must strictly be avoided
- For exterior applications, accumulated dust and dirt can easily be cleaned by spraying low-pressure water
- To preserve the paint life and prevent yellowing on outdoor products, it is recommended to inspect the paint condition approximately every 5 years, depending on climatic conditions, and refresh the paint if necessary
