The classic style preferred in large-scale event venues comes to life in this project with burgundy wall backgrounds and intensive gold leaf polyurethane decorations. The architectural character of the space is built on a balanced contrast between white lacquered furniture and dark wall panels. The warm light emanating from crystal chandeliers highlights the gold leaf craftsmanship on the polyurethane surfaces, giving the space a rich depth of texture. The rough appearance of the structural columns has been transformed into aesthetic works of art with custom-designed decorative coatings, preserving the interior integrity.
Details determining the main character of the space feature pieces selected from Polure’s wide product range. Large-bodied sconce motifs (P8088 series and derivatives) used on column surfaces and wall sections are the most important elements adding a palace atmosphere to the venue. Frames created with corner ornaments (P82015C) and wall molding profiles (P81142) elegantly border the burgundy satin texture on the walls. In ceiling transitions, the perception of height is carried upwards by using stepped cornices (P9135) and gold-gilded horizontal borders.
All decorative elements in this design are produced with high-density precast polyurethane technology. These products, which are much lighter than plaster, do not put additional load on the structure, especially in ceiling and wall applications of large commercial areas. These motifs, coming out of special molds, maintain CNC-precision detail quality while providing great time savings during the assembly process. Its impact-resistant structure allows the decoration to maintain its first-day form for many years in places such as wedding halls where human traffic is intense.
For designers who want to create a similar atmosphere, the key point is to construct the color balance correctly. Dark color wallpaper or paint applications must be illuminated with light-colored or leafed motifs such as P82015. Hidden light pools to be created on the ceilings give the space an architectural volume by showing the details of the polyurethane moldings more clearly. Vertical decorative elements used in areas with large columns are an ideal strategy to create a spacious vertical perception even in spaces with low ceilings.
Design Details
The burgundy-gold pairing, a symbol of 'power and grandeur' in color theory, is visually balanced by softening it with white furniture. The massive size of the columns was lightened by dividing them with vertically placed P8088 series sconces. The molding ratios in the ceiling and wall transitions emphasize the horizontal width of the space, while the reflections of crystal lighting highlight the three-dimensional texture of the polyurethane surfaces. Choosing polyurethane as the material offered flawless symmetry and finish quality in the assembly of complex carvings.
