Designed to bring classic architectural details to the junction of walls and ceilings, the P81159 polyurethane cornice is a decorative architectural element distinguished by its generous dimensions and rich embossed motifs. Measuring 155 mm in width, 2400 mm in length, and 170 mm in height, this substantial profile creates a striking visual border, especially in spacious rooms with high ceilings. An indispensable element of classic and neo-classic interior design styles, it transforms ceiling transitions into an elegant architectural feature.
Our product is manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³). While offering a surface hardness comparable to wood, it is exceptionally lightweight and, unlike traditional plaster moldings, adds no structural load to the building. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, its water absorption rate is below one percent, making it completely resistant to moisture, humidity, and water. With outstanding dimensional stability, it will not shrink, expand, crack, or warp over time, ensuring long-lasting durability.
Looking at its visual design, modillion-style bracket motifs inspired by classical antiquity merge symmetrically with delicate floral garland reliefs. Thanks to advanced molding technology, these embossed patterns are rendered with crisp, smooth precision, adding depth and a play of light and shadow to the ceiling line. The stepped and curved crown structure at the top of the profile perfectly completes the classic ceiling finish.
The P81159 model is highly favored in spacious living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants, luxury residences, and prestigious interior projects where classical decor is prominent. Its water-resistant properties allow for safe installation in bathrooms and spa areas. Furthermore, when protected with suitable exterior paints, it serves as a decorative accent under exterior eaves, along balcony edges, or as mid-floor moldings.
During installation, the lightweight nature of the product ensures great ease of application. Installation is carried out by applying Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to clean, dry surfaces and mechanically securing it with screws. The product is delivered pre-primed in factory-applied white, preparing the surface for the final coat of paint. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications done without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat is optional and left to the customer's discretion. Polure does not provide warranties for the paints used.
- With its prominent height of 170 mm, the P81159 polyurethane cornice is an excellent choice for spaces with a ceiling height of 3 meters or more
- Its primary areas of use include luxury villa living rooms, hotel reception and lobby areas, historic building restorations, wide corridors, and conference halls
- When used at the ceiling-to-wall transitions in interiors, it offers a crack-free and flake-free solution compared to plaster alternatives
- Thanks to its complete resistance to water and moisture, it is also preferred in Turkish baths, bathrooms, and indoor pool areas
- In exterior designs, it is utilized as under-eave ornamentation and under-roof cornice profiles to bestow a classic character upon the building
- Ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and smooth
- For perfect corner joints, profiles are cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw
- Polure Polfix adhesive is applied to the bonding channels on the back of the profile, and the product is positioned on the wall/ceiling
- Mechanical fastening with screws or nails is mandatory for a secure hold
- Joints and screw heads are filled with an exterior-grade filler, and once dry, smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- An optional additional primer can be applied over the factory primer; the process is then completed by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- For outdoor applications, the use of UV-resistant paint is mandatory
- Maintenance of polyurethane cornices is highly effortless
- They can be easily cleaned using a duster or a slightly damp cloth
- Avoid using abrasive chemicals, thinners, or harsh solvents during cleaning, as these can damage the paint on the surface
- Unlike plaster, it does not produce dust over time, does not crumble, and is resistant to insect infestation
- For exterior applications, it is recommended to periodically inspect the painted surface and refresh it as needed, depending on the lifespan of the paint
