The P81160 ceiling profile is a highly detailed decorative architectural element designed to provide an elegant transition between walls and ceilings. Featuring acanthus leaves and dentil patterns—hallmarks of classical architecture—this profile adds depth and a distinct character to any interior. It is an ideal choice for defining ceiling boundaries, particularly in high-ceilinged living rooms, spacious lobbies, and historical restoration projects.
Crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-200 kg/m³), this wide-profile molding measures 117 mm in height, 175 mm in projection (wall depth), and 2440 mm in length. Offering the durability and hardness of wood, it is completely moisture-resistant, unlike traditional plaster. It will not crack, crumble, shrink, or warp over time. Additionally, its lightweight structure ensures it adds no extra static load to the building during installation.
The visual design features intricate leaf carvings rising over a wide lower curve, topped by a stepped crown structure. The concave and convex transitions within the profile interact beautifully with ceiling light sources, creating subtle shadow plays that visually balance the room's height. Thanks to precision molding technology, the sharpness and symmetry of the motifs remain flawless and consistent along the entire length.
The product comes pre-primed with a factory-applied white primer coat, designed to enhance topcoat adhesion. However, since paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee applications done without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat post-installation is optional and at the installer's discretion. Polure does not guarantee the performance of third-party paints.
Installation begins by making 45-degree miter cuts on clean, dry surfaces. Polure Polfix adhesive must be used on all joints and mounting surfaces; silicone-based adhesives should be avoided to ensure long-term durability. Mechanical fastening with screws at regular intervals is required. Once screw heads and joints are filled, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, the final topcoat can be applied using water-based or synthetic paints.
- This cornice-type profile is primarily designed for interior wall-to-ceiling transitions
- It is an excellent choice for defining ceiling borders in spacious, high-ceilinged areas such as grand living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants, historical mansions, and luxury bedrooms
- Depending on the architectural style, it can also be painted with suitable exterior paint and used as a decorative finish under eaves or at floor transitions
- Thanks to its wide projection, it offers a practical solution for concealing structural pipes, wiring, or cables running along ceiling edges
- Ensure that the ceiling and wall surfaces are free of dust, moisture, and dirt
- Cut the profile corners at a 45-degree angle using a professional miter saw
- Apply only Polure Polfix adhesive to the mounting surfaces and joints (do not use silicone adhesives)
- Once positioned, mechanically secure the profile to the wall and ceiling using screws
- Fill the screw heads and joints with an appropriate indoor or outdoor filler
- After the filler dries, sand smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Complete the installation by applying an optional coat of primer followed by two coats of paint
- Polyurethane crown moldings require minimal maintenance
- Dust can be easily wiped away with a damp, chemical-free cloth
- Avoid using acidic or abrasive cleaning agents on the surface
- Thanks to its fully waterproof and moisture-resistant structure, it will not swell or mold, even in damp areas like bathrooms or kitchens
- In case of physical damage, it can be easily repaired locally with filler and sanding, then repainted
