The P81089 polyurethane crown molding is an architectural element designed to bring an aesthetic harmony to the transitions between ceilings and walls. While seamlessly concealing structural imperfections and cracks at wall joints, it integrates classic architectural details into both modern and traditional living spaces. Once installed, it enhances the ceiling height and room geometry, creating a balanced visual hierarchy in any space.
This decorative profile features a width of 102 mm, a height of 100 mm, and a length of 2440 mm. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane, it offers a surface durability comparable to wood with its 150-200 kg/m³ density, yet its lightweight structure adds no extra load to the building. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, moisture absorption is below 1%, ensuring dimensional stability by maintaining its shape in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
The design features a soft curve at the top of the profile, complemented by embossed leaf and scroll motifs in the center. A delicate bead-and-reel detail along the bottom edge enhances the depth of the relief patterns, lending a classic character to the space. This balanced profile structure creates a beautiful play of light and shadow on the surfaces, highlighting the ceiling design.
Suitable for both interior spaces and exterior eaves, this model is highly preferred in spacious living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and classic villa projects. Thanks to its complete water and moisture resistance, it can be safely installed in wet areas like bathrooms. For exterior applications, coating the profile with UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect it against sunlight degradation.
Unlike traditional plaster (gypsum) materials, it does not crack or crumble, nor does it rot or attract insects like wood. During installation, miter cuts are made on a clean surface, then the profile is adhered using Polure Polfix adhesive and secured mechanically with screws. Although the factory-primed surface comes ready for painting, applying an additional primer is left to the user's discretion, in accordance with the warranty terms of paint manufacturers.
- The P81089 polyurethane crown molding is a versatile profile preferred for both interior and exterior designs due to its wide range of applications
- Indoors, it is ideal for ceiling-to-wall transitions in high-ceilinged living rooms, wide corridors, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and luxury residential projects
- Thanks to its complete resistance to moisture and water, it can be safely installed in high-humidity areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, spas, and indoor pools without swelling or crumbling, unlike plaster alternatives
- Externally, it serves as an aesthetic border under roof eaves, floor transitions, or as a complementary cornice element for window pediments
- Its embossed structure, which supports classic and neoclassical styles, can also be used decoratively behind indirect lighting coves or for ceiling framing to add depth to flat wall surfaces
- Before installation, ensure that the application surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, moisture, and grease
- The crown molding profiles are miter-cut at a 45-degree angle for corner joints
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the joint and bonding surfaces; silicone-based adhesives must absolutely not be used for installation
- After gluing, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure the product safely supports its own weight
- Screw heads and joints are filled with a high-quality exterior joint filler and, once dry, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Although the factory primer on the product prepares the surface for painting, an additional primer coat is optional, as some paint manufacturers require their own primers for warranty purposes
- In the final step, the process is completed by applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Maintaining polyurethane crown moldings is highly practical
- Dust accumulated indoors can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth; avoid using harsh abrasive chemicals or wire sponges that could damage the surface during cleaning
- For exterior applications, surfaces exposed to environmental factors like wind, rain, and mud can be washed down with water
- To protect against fading caused by UV rays over time, the paint on exterior products can be periodically refreshed using UV-resistant exterior paint
- Since the material inherently resists rotting, insect infestation, and mold, no extra structural maintenance is required other than periodic paint touch-ups
