Designed for those seeking to create an elegant transition between walls and ceilings, the P81013 polyurethane profile is an exclusive decorative element that adds depth to interior designs. Blending the intricate details of classical architecture with modern manufacturing technology, this product ensures a balanced, visually pleasing transition in any room.
With dimensions of 68 mm in width, 2440 mm in length, and 65 mm in height, this profile offers ideal proportions for medium-sized rooms and standard ceiling heights. Thanks to its rigid polyurethane structure with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, it provides durability comparable to wood, while being exceptionally easy to transport and install compared to heavy plaster alternatives. Its closed-cell structure contributes to moisture resistance, helping reduce swelling or flaking even in damp spaces like bathrooms.
The finely crafted, embossed classical motifs and elegant leaf scrolls on its surface give the product a rich, sophisticated character. This polyurethane profile is delivered from the factory pre-primed with a white surface coating. While this factory primer prepares the surface for the topcoat, paint manufacturers often do not guarantee applications done without their own primers. Therefore, applying an additional primer coat before installation remains an optional choice for the customer.
This versatile decorative profile is highly favored for framing ceiling borders in living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, and prestigious office projects. Thanks to its moisture resistance, it maintains its shape for many years in every corner of your interior. However, due to its material properties, it is not suitable for exterior applications.
During installation, corners are miter-cut at a 45-degree angle, and Polure Polfix adhesive must be used for mounting. In addition to the adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws is recommended to enhance stability. Once the joints are filled with putty and sanded smooth, the process is completed by applying two coats of water-based or synthetic paint.
With its high impact resistance, crack-free structure, and easy-to-clean surface, this polyurethane cornice model is a maintenance-free decorative investment that adds long-term value to your living spaces.
- The P81013 patterned cornice is specifically designed to provide an aesthetic finish at interior ceiling-to-wall transitions
- With its 68 mm width and 65 mm height, it offers the perfect scale for standard apartments, high-ceilinged living rooms, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and prestigious office projects
- It is ideal for crowning ceiling edges in spaces with classical, neo-classical, or avant-garde decor styles
- Thanks to its high resistance to moisture and water, it can be safely used on bathroom and kitchen ceilings that do not come into direct contact with water
- This product is suitable for interior use only and must not be used in exterior projects
- Ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and smooth
- Cornice profiles are miter-cut at a 45-degree angle using a miter saw at the corners
- For installation, apply only Polure Polfix adhesive to the channels on the back of the profile
- Once placed on the wall, it is mandatory to mechanically secure the profile with screws or nails until the adhesive is fully cured
- Joints and screw holes are filled with acrylic putty and, once dry, smoothed with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Optionally, after applying a primer recommended by the paint manufacturer, paint with at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Polyurethane cornices require minimal maintenance once installation and painting are complete
- A slightly damp, soft cloth is sufficient for cleaning
- To prevent damage to the surface motifs, never use abrasive chemicals, hydrochloric acid, bleach, or wire scrubs
- Thanks to its water-resistant structure, it does not deform, mold, or harbor bacteria when wiped with a damp cloth
- If you wish to change your decor in the future, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted
Can the P81013 cornice be used in damp areas like bathrooms?
Yes, thanks to its closed-cell structure and water absorption rate of under 1%, our product can be safely used in humid interior spaces such as bathrooms and kitchens. Unlike plaster cornices, it will not flake, swell, or mold due to moisture. However, it is not recommended for use in areas with direct water contact, such as inside shower cabins.
Can the product be painted directly, or is an additional primer required?
The P81013 model is shipped pre-primed with a protective white factory coating, which prepares the surface for painting. However, since paint manufacturers do not guarantee applications done without their own primers, applying an additional primer coat after installation is optional and left to the customer's preference.
Which adhesive should I use during installation?
For excellent adhesion and long-lasting durability, only Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive should be used during installation. Standard silicones should be avoided as they can stretch and cause gaps over time. In addition to the adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory.
What is the biggest advantage of polyurethane cornices compared to plaster ones?
Polyurethane cornices are extremely lightweight, eliminating the risk of breaking or cracking during transport and installation. With a density of 150-220 kg/m³, they are highly impact-resistant. Unlike plaster, they do not sag over time, and their installation is much faster and cleaner.
Can the P81013 model be used on exterior facades?
No, our P81013 patterned cornice model is designed exclusively for interior spaces. Polyurethane products can yellow when exposed directly to sunlight (UV) without paint or protection. For your exterior projects, you can explore our outdoor-compatible window casings and floor moldings.
