The P85067BU is a premium decorative wall panel designed to add depth, texture, and character to large wall surfaces. Measuring 30.2 cm in width, 240 cm in length, and 2 cm in thickness, this versatile cladding element seamlessly bridges the gap between modern architecture and classic design. Ideal for wainscoting and boiserie applications, it helps create a cohesive visual language throughout any space. Compared to traditional plaster or MDF alternatives, this lightweight yet highly impact-resistant profile is the preferred choice for both residential and commercial projects.
Crafted from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), this product offers a surface hardness comparable to wood while remaining exceptionally easy to handle and install. Assess water and moisture exposure using the product technical data, surface finish and installation details. This ensures outstanding dimensional stability, preventing shrinking, expanding, or warping even in highly humid indoor environments or harsh outdoor weather conditions.
The visual design features a wide, flat central surface elegantly framed by stepped and rounded chamfered details along the top and bottom edges. This symmetrical and balanced profile creates a sophisticated play of light and shadow, transforming plain walls into dynamic architectural features. The smooth, factory-primed surface ensures that the final topcoat applies flawlessly for a pristine finish.
Highly versatile, this panel is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Indoors, it serves as a stunning backdrop for TV accent walls in living rooms, headboard walls in bedrooms, or feature walls in hotel lobbies and restaurants. Outdoors, it functions beautifully as a decorative accent panel at building entrances or between floor cornices. Since unpainted polyurethane can yellow under direct sunlight, applying a UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory for outdoor installations.
The product is delivered factory-primed, providing an excellent base for paint adhesion. However, because paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee finishes applied without their proprietary primers, applying an additional primer coat before the final topcoat is optional and at the user's discretion. Polure does not assume liability for the performance of third-party paints.
Installation should be carried out on clean, dry surfaces. Profiles should be miter-cut at 45 degrees for seamless joints and secured using Polure Polfix adhesive. For a long-lasting installation, mechanical fastening with screws is required. Once screw heads and joints are filled with a suitable joint compound and sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, the panels are ready for painting.
- This decorative wall panel is engineered for both large-scale interior projects and exterior building facades
- Indoors, it is ideal for creating stunning focal points behind TV units in living rooms, modern accent walls behind beds, or elegant boiserie (wainscoting) designs in hallways and entryways when combined with baseboards and crown moldings
- In commercial spaces, it provides a prestigious backdrop for hotel lobbies, restaurant walls, office receptions, and retail window displays
- Thanks to its complete resistance to water and moisture, it can be safely used in high-humidity areas like bathrooms and spas
- Externally, when coated with UV-resistant exterior paint, it adds significant architectural value to villa facades as a horizontal or vertical decorative cladding panel
- Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and level
- Cut the panels to the required dimensions for the application area, using a 45-degree miter cut for corner joints
- Apply Polure Polfix adhesive to the back of the panel and press it onto the wall
- To prevent slippage and ensure a long-lasting bond, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory
- Fill any gaps at the joints and screw holes with a suitable joint filler
- Once the filler is dry, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Since paint manufacturers often require their own primers for warranty purposes, an optional extra coat of primer may be applied, followed by two coats of water-based or synthetic paint to complete the process
- Thanks to its ultra-smooth surface, cleaning is exceptionally easy
- Dusting and routine cleaning can be done using a soft, slightly damp cloth
- Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners, acidic substances, or stiff sponges that could damage the finish
- For exterior applications, inspect the painted surface annually to extend the paint's lifespan and maintain its aesthetic appeal, performing local touch-ups as necessary
- In case of accidental impacts or scratches, the damaged area can easily be restored to its original look by applying joint filler, sanding, and repainting
Can the P85067BU panel be used on exterior walls?
Assess water and moisture exposure using the product technical data, surface finish and installation details. However, since unpainted polyurethane can yellow over time under direct sunlight (UV), it must be coated with a high-quality, UV-resistant exterior paint for outdoor installations.
Is it mandatory to use screws during installation?
Yes, to ensure the panels remain securely and permanently fixed to the wall, mechanical fastening with screws is required in addition to adhesive. Relying solely on adhesive may lead to sagging or detachment over time. Screw heads can easily be concealed later with filler and sanding.
Can the product be used directly without painting?
The product comes with a factory-applied white protective primer. However, this primer is not a final finish. To achieve a seamless look, conceal joints, and protect the material from external factors, it must be painted with at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint after installation.
Is it necessary to apply an extra coat of primer before painting?
The product is delivered factory-primed and ready for paint. However, paint brands typically do not guarantee their products unless their own primers are used. Therefore, applying an additional primer coat to ensure optimal paint performance is optional and left to the customer's preference.
What are the advantages compared to plaster or wood wainscoting panels?
This panel is significantly lighter and far more impact-resistant than plaster. Unlike wood or MDF panels, it will not swell, rot, or warp due to moisture, and it is completely resistant to insect damage. Additionally, the installation process is much faster, cleaner, and easier.
