The P3040A flat wall panel is a high-performance cladding element engineered to create seamless vertical or horizontal linear patterns in modern architectural projects and minimalist design concepts. Featuring a generous surface area and clean, minimalist edge details, it delivers a smooth, unified finish across any wall surface. Offering an innovative alternative to traditional wood paneling, this product perfectly balances aesthetics with practical functionality.
With technical dimensions of 449 mm in width, 2400 mm in length, and a thickness of 30 mm, this panel allows for the seamless coverage of large wall surfaces with minimal joints. Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), it offers mechanical strength comparable to wood while remaining lightweight to prevent adding static load to building structures. Its closed-cell structure keeps water absorption below 1%, ensuring excellent dimensional stability even in humid climates, and it retains its shape across a wide temperature range of -20 °C / +70 °C.
The front profile of the panel features clean, flat, and smooth lines for an uncluttered look. The rear grooved and stepped channels enhance adhesive grip during installation while preventing material warping. These structural details ensure a perfectly flat, wave-free, and sharp linear finish, particularly on expansive interior walls and exterior facades.
Highly versatile, this flat panel is ideal for residential applications such as TV accent walls, headboard backdrops, and hallway cladding. In commercial spaces like hotel lobbies, restaurants, and offices, it serves as a durable wall covering for corridors and reception areas. Assess water and moisture exposure using the product technical data, surface finish and installation details. For exterior designs, it functions beautifully as an accent wall or infill panel between floor cornices.
During installation, the panels should be applied to a clean, dry surface and joined using 45-degree miter cuts. For a secure bond, only Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive should be used, supplemented by mechanical screw fastening. While the factory-applied primer makes the surface ready for painting, applying an additional primer coat is optional and depends on the user's preference, often influenced by paint manufacturers' warranty terms. Once the joints are filled and sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, the process is completed with two coats of paint. For exterior applications, the use of UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect against sun damage.
Unlike plaster alternatives that crack and crumble, or wood that is prone to rotting, mold, and insect infestation, this rigid polyurethane panel is a professional decorative solution that offers long-term durability and exceptionally low maintenance costs.
- The P3040A polyurethane flat wall panel is a highly versatile product designed to meet large-scale cladding needs for both interior and exterior surfaces
- In residential interiors, it is frequently used as a decorative TV accent wall in living rooms, elegant headboard wainscoting in bedrooms, and protective boiserie paneling in entryways and hallways
- It is also ideal for creating a sleek, modern look in commercial spaces like office lobbies and restaurant dining areas
- With a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it serves as a highly moisture-resistant decorative cladding for bathroom walls
- For outdoor applications, it can be safely used on building entrances, between columns, or as flat infill panels between floor cornices, provided it is finished with a UV-resistant paint
- Ensure the installation surface is completely clean, dry, and free of dust or grease
- Cut the panels at 45-degree angles using a miter saw according to your measurements
- Apply Polure Polfix polyurethane adhesive to the back of the panels and along the joints, then press them onto the wall
- To prevent slippage while the adhesive cures, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory
- Fill all screw holes and joints with an acrylic filler
- Once dry, sand the surface smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- While the panels come factory-primed, an optional additional coat of primer can be applied based on your paint manufacturer's guidelines, followed by at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- For exterior installations, always use UV-resistant paint
- Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the polyurethane flat wall panel is highly resistant to water and standard cleaning agents
- For daily maintenance, simply wipe down with a damp cloth
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive acids, or heavy solvents that could damage the surface finish
- For exterior applications, we recommend inspecting the surface once a year and refreshing the paint if necessary to extend its lifespan
- If you wish to change the color in the future, the surface can be lightly sanded and repainted
Can the P3040A wall panel be used in wet areas like bathrooms?
Yes, thanks to the closed-cell structure of polyurethane, its water absorption rate is below 1%. This makes it suitable for use in bathrooms, kitchens, and other high-humidity areas with minimal risk of swelling, rotting, or mold growth.
Will the product be damaged by sunlight when used on exterior facades?
Unpainted polyurethane can yellow when exposed to direct UV rays. Therefore, for exterior applications, it is essential to paint the surface with a UV-resistant exterior paint after installation to protect it from sun damage.
Is it mandatory to use screws during installation?
Yes, due to the large dimensions of the panels and to ensure long-term stability, mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory alongside the use of Polure Polfix adhesive.
Do I need to apply another coat of primer before painting?
The product is delivered factory-primed and ready for painting. However, because some paint brands only guarantee their products when used with their own primers, applying an additional primer coat is optional and left to the customer's discretion.
What is its main advantage over plaster or MDF panels?
Compared to plaster, it is much lighter and highly impact-resistant, meaning it won't crack during transport or installation. Compared to MDF, it is highly resistant to moisture, water, and insects, helping prevent swelling, warping, or rotting over time.
