The polyurethane circular arch profile is a high-density decorative accent designed to create curved architectural lines over doors, windows, and wall niches. Bearing the SKU code P14D40D200VI50, this curved profile features a depth of 90 mm and outer dimensions of 1255x1255 mm, bringing a clean circular aesthetic to interior and exterior spaces. Favored in both classic and contemporary design, circular forms soften sharp angular transitions to establish fluid continuity between spaces.
Manufactured from rigid closed-cell polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, the material has a water absorption rate under 1%, rendering it highly resistant to moisture, humidity, and rot. It preserves its structural integrity across extreme weather conditions; dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C. Compared to heavy plaster cast or concrete arches, this lightweight profile adds no structural burden while offering superior impact resistance.
The tiered stepped reveals and smooth inner curve create subtle light-and-shadow interplay, providing depth and dimension to the wall surface. Delivered with a factory-applied white primer, the smooth surface is ready for topcoat painting. Since paint manufacturers often specify their own priming systems, additional primer application is optional according to preference.
In interior applications, it is commonly installed above doorway archways, hallway accents, headboard niche frames, and circular ceiling details. When coated with suitable exterior paints, it can also be safely applied outdoors as arched window surrounds and building entrance portals.
During installation, apply polyurethane (PU) adhesive to all contact and joint surfaces; silicone adhesives must never be used. Mechanical fastening with screws is recommended for heavy profiles. Joint seams should be filled with sealant, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, and finished with water- or solvent-based paints.
- This circular arch profile offers versatile applications across both interior and exterior architecture
- Indoors, it serves as an aesthetic focal point for doorway archways, hallway ceiling transitions, and circular framing of wall niches in living spaces
- It provides smooth architectural lines in headboard accent panels and media unit niches
- Outdoors, when painted with UV-resistant coatings, it is used for arched window surrounds, entrance archways, and exterior facade bands
- It is ideal for incorporating curved architectural detailing into hotel lobbies, restaurants, commercial spaces, and residential projects
- The application surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust
- After cutting to size, apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive along the back contact areas and joint points
- Mechanical fixing with screws or nails is required to prevent displacement during curing
- Screw heads and joints should be filled with polyurethane-compatible joint filler
- Once cured, sand the joints smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper
- Following an optional secondary coat of primer over the factory primer, complete the installation with two topcoats of water-based or solvent-based paint
- The surface of the polyurethane circular arch can be easily wiped clean using a damp cloth and mild non-abrasive detergent
- Its closed-cell structure prevents dirt absorption and allows direct contact with water
- Avoid using abrasive sponges, harsh solvents, or acid-based chemicals during cleaning
- For outdoor installations showing paint wear over time, light sanding and a fresh topcoat application will restore the finish
Is the polyurethane circular arch profile suitable for exterior use?
Yes. Made from high-density rigid polyurethane with a water absorption rate under 1% and dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C, the arch profile is suited for exterior environments when painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint. For outdoor applications, finishing with UV-resistant paint is required.
Which adhesive should be used for installing the arched profile?
Only polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive should be used for installation, as silicone adhesives do not provide sufficient bonding. In addition to adhesive, mechanical fastening with screws or nails is required for a secure installation.
Can the product be used directly without painting?
The product is delivered with a white factory primer. However, because polyurethane raw material can yellow over time and joint filler marks need to be covered, topcoat painting with water- or solvent-based paint after installation is necessary.
What are the advantages compared to plaster arches?
Plaster arches are heavy, fragile, and sensitive to moisture. In contrast, polyurethane circular arches are lightweight, impact-resistant, and suitable for humid areas. Furthermore, they carry a reduced risk of breakage during installation and are easy to transport.
What is the density and durability level of the product?
The product is manufactured with a high density of 150-220 kg/m³, providing a hardness close to natural wood. This ensures high impact resistance without flexing, warping, or distorting over time.
