The curved round arch profile is a high-density molded trim designed to create circular architectural details at doors, windows, wall niches, and ceiling transitions. Identified by product code P14D25D100VI50, this curved arch element adds depth, structure, and classic character to flat wall surfaces.
Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), the profile delivers structural strength comparable to hardwood. Featuring a depth of 60 mm and outer dimensions of 660x660 mm, its dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C. Its closed-cell structure ensures a water absorption rate under 1%, providing reliable protection against moisture, humidity, freezing, and decay.
Molded with precision, the smooth surface features stepped detailing, subtle grooves, and fluid curves. These architectural contours create dynamic light and shadow effects under natural and artificial lighting. The 90-degree quarter-circle form integrates seamlessly with matching straight arch profiles, allowing you to create full door arches or framed wall niches.
Highly versatile, this arch profile is widely used in interior applications such as living room feature walls, hallway portals, TV backdrop frames, and headboard niche borders. For exterior projects, it creates elegant window surrounds, entrance pediments, and decorative facade accents for villas, hotels, and commercial buildings.
Unlike fragile plaster or wood that warps and decays from moisture, polyurethane offers a lightweight and impact-resistant alternative. It adds no heavy structural load and eliminates the risk of cracking or breaking. Pre-primed at the factory, the surface is ready for topcoat painting. Depending on the paint manufacturer's guidelines, an optional second primer coat may be applied before finishing with water-based or synthetic paints.
Durable, low-maintenance, and easy to clean, this curved polyurethane arch molding coordinates effortlessly with matching wall trims, skirtings, and cornices, providing a cohesive professional finish for both interior and exterior architectural designs.
- This round arch profile is suitable for both interior and exterior architectural applications
- Indoors, it is used for living room wall panel combinations, arched hallway transitions, TV unit feature walls, and headboard niche framing
- Combined with straight profiles, it forms full round-arched door frames
- Outdoors, it serves as curved window head trims, circular window surrounds on villa facades, and decorative archways for hotel, restaurant, and retail entrances
- When installed outdoors, painting with UV-resistant exterior paint is recommended
- Additionally, it offers a practical decorative solution for creating circular ceiling centerpieces and light cove borders
- Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease
- Align profile joints precisely using a miter box
- Apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive to the back and joint connections before pressing onto the surface
- For heavy or wide profiles, mechanical support using screws and wall plugs is required; silicone adhesives must not be used
- Fill screw heads and seams with PU-compatible filler and allow to dry
- Sand filled areas smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper
- The factory-applied primer is ready for coloring; finish with two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the polyurethane arch profile is fully water and moisture resistant, making maintenance quick and effortless
- Wipe the surface with a soft, damp microfiber cloth to remove dust or mild dirt
- Avoid abrasive sponges, wire brushes, or harsh chemicals such as thinners, acids, and bleach, which can damage the painted finish
- Exterior installations can be rinsed with low-pressure clean water
- If minor surface scratches occur, they can easily be repaired using filler and touch-up paint
Is the curved arch molding suitable for exterior use?
Yes, polyurethane curved arch moldings are fully water and moisture resistant, making them ideal for outdoor use. For exterior applications, the profile must be painted with UV-resistant exterior paint to protect against sunlight.
Which adhesive should be used for installation?
Polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive must be used during installation. Silicone-based adhesives do not provide sufficient load-bearing strength or adhesion. Screw support is recommended for secure long-term mounting.
What are the advantages of polyurethane over plaster and wood?
Compared to plaster, polyurethane is lightweight, impact-resistant, and won't shatter. Unlike wood, it does not rot, crack, or warp from moisture. Precision molding also ensures cleaner detail lines.
Can the product be painted directly, or is a primer required?
The product arrives with a factory-applied primer coat ready for painting. However, applying an additional primer layer based on your topcoat paint manufacturer's recommendation is advised for optimal adhesion.
How is the curved arch molding connected to straight profiles?
The curved profile connects to straight moldings of the same cross-section via 45-degree miter cuts joined with PU adhesive. Fill the joints with PU-compatible putty, sand smooth, and paint for a continuous, seamless look.
