The round curved arch profile is a rigid architectural moulding element designed to create smooth curved lines in circular ceiling arrangements, wall paneling, and decorative transitions above windows. Adding dimensional depth to interiors, this refined detail serves as an ideal architectural solution for complementing classic concepts or introducing soft contours to modern interior designs.
Featuring outer dimensions of 427x427 mm and a depth of 49 mm, the moulding forms a smooth circular arch segment. Manufactured from high-density cast polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), it combines the durability of wood with the lightness of plaster. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, water absorption remains below 1%, guaranteeing that the profile will remain resistant to rot and swelling even in high-humidity areas like bathrooms. Dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C ensures exceptional dimensional stability under all environmental conditions.
The stepped profile cross-section and curved shape produce dynamic plays of light and shadow across the surface, adding visual volume to any space. A factory-applied matte white primer coat delivers a smooth surface ready for final painting. Unlike heavy plaster moldings, it adds no structural burden and resists cracking or breaking during transport and installation due to its resilient structure.
This versatile profile is frequently selected for crafting circular frames around ceiling roses in living and dining rooms, framing wall niches in hallways or bedrooms, and designing feature wall panels in hotel lobbies and restaurants. Its paintable surface seamlessly integrates into any color scheme. For exterior applications, applying UV-resistant paints enables decorative arch solutions above exterior windows and doors.
Installation is straightforward: apply polyurethane (PU) adhesive along the back of the profile onto clean, dry surfaces, securing with mechanical screws where needed for stability. Joint lines and screw heads are filled with putty, sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper, and finished with two coats of paint. Its lightweight nature significantly reduces installation time and labor costs compared to traditional plaster or wood alternatives.
- This round curved arch profile offers versatile application options for both interior spaces and exterior facades when finished with appropriate paint
- Indoors, it is ideal for forming circular frames around ceiling roses in living rooms and dining areas, or designing curved panel accents behind TV units and headboards
- It is also commonly used to define upper arches of wall niches in corridors and entryways
- In commercial projects such as hotel receptions, restaurants, retail displays, and offices, it serves to create refined architectural curves
- Outdoors, when coated with UV-resistant paint, it functions as a decorative arch surround for round windows and doors
- Ensure the target wall or ceiling surface is clean, dry, and dust-free
- Apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive in a continuous line along the back of the profile and press firmly into position
- For secure anchoring, support larger profiles with mechanical screws until the adhesive cures
- Fill screw heads and joints with suitable polyurethane filler, then sand smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper once dry
- Complete the installation by applying two coats of water-based or synthetic paint
- Maintenance is minimal and hassle-free
- Dust and surface dirt can easily be wiped clean with a soft, damp cloth
- Avoid using abrasive cleaning powders, bleach, or aggressive solvent-based chemicals to protect the integrity of the painted finish
- For exterior applications, superficial dust buildup can be rinsed off with low-pressure fresh water
Can this curved arch profile be used on exterior facades?
Yes. Thanks to its high-density closed-cell structure, it is moisture-resistant and suitable for exterior use. When installed outdoors, it must be painted with a UV-resistant exterior paint to protect it against yellowing from sunlight.
Can silicone adhesive be used during installation?
No. Silicone adhesives do not provide sufficient adhesion to polyurethane surfaces and may fail over time. For a permanent installation, always use polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive and reinforce with mechanical screws.
Can the product be used directly without painting?
The product is shipped factory-primed in matte white. While the primer prepares the surface for paint, applying at least two coats of water-based or synthetic paint after installation is recommended for optimal aesthetics and long-term protection.
What advantages does it offer over plaster or wood curved profiles?
Polyurethane is significantly lighter than plaster and impact-resistant, reducing the risk of cracking during handling or mounting. Unlike wood, it is resistant to water and moisture, with a reduced risk of moisture-related deterioration.
Can it be cut at different angles or sizes?
Yes. The profile can easily be cut to desired angles or lengths using standard fine-toothed hand saws or miter saws. Cut edges can be sanded smooth before installation.
