The polyurethane round curved arch profile is a molded decorative element manufactured with high-precision mold technology to accentuate circular turns, arched passageways, and curved ceiling-to-wall junctions in architectural structures. Highlighting circular architectural details, this curved profile creates a soft and continuous visual outline across any space.
Featuring outer dimensions of 994x994 mm and a profile depth of 72 mm, the product is crafted from rigid polyurethane raw material with a density of 150-220 kg/m³. Thanks to its low water absorption (below 1%), it remains moisture-resistant, and its shape and dimensional stability have been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C. Compared to wood or plaster alternatives, it is resistant to cracking and rot and is exceptionally lightweight.
Stepped tiers and concave curves along the cross-sectional profile enhance the sense of depth through dynamic light-and-shadow play. Delivered with a factory-applied white primer finish, its smooth surface provides an ideal base for immediate final painting. For exterior applications, applying UV-resistant paints ensures long-lasting durability.
Offering a wide variety of application possibilities, this curved arch profile is widely used indoors for hallway archways, circular door and window surrounds, niche frames, and ceiling corners. Externally, it serves as an aesthetic framing element under dome mouldings and around arched window frames.
While its lightweight structure facilitates easy installation, applying polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive and adding screw supports for mechanical fastening is recommended during installation. Once the joint seams are filled with putty and sanded with 180–220 grit sandpaper, the surface can be easily painted using water-based or synthetic paints.
- The polyurethane round curved arch profile offers versatile application possibilities for both interior and exterior architectural projects
- Indoors, it is used to frame oval doorway transitions, outline circular wall niches, finish arched vault ceiling junctions, and create focal points in prestigious spaces such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, and villa living rooms
- Outdoors, it is reliably applied to curved sections of arched window surrounds, main entrance vaults, and circular transition points of floor belt mouldings
- Thanks to its paintable surface and moisture-resistant properties, it preserves its structural integrity even in high-humidity environments
- The application surface must be clean, dry, and dust-free
- After cutting the profile to the appropriate angles, apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive to the back and press it firmly onto the surface
- For heavy or wide profiles, use screws or wall plugs at suitable intervals for mechanical support; silicone-based adhesives must not be used
- Fill screw heads and joints with suitable indoor or outdoor filler, then sand smooth using 180–220 grit sandpaper
- The factory-applied primer prepares the surface; applying an additional primer layer remains at the customer's discretion based on paint manufacturer warranty terms
- Complete the process by applying 2 coats of water-based or synthetic paint in the desired color
- Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the polyurethane curved arch profile is a maintenance-free, long-lasting material
- Surface cleaning can be performed easily with a soft, damp cloth
- Abrasive chemicals, solvents, or stiff brushes that could damage the surface coating must be avoided
- For outdoor applications, a periodic topcoat refresh with UV-resistant paint can be applied to maintain color vibrancy
Is the polyurethane round curved arch suitable for exterior use?
Yes, thanks to its high-density rigid polyurethane structure and low water absorption (below 1%), it is moisture-resistant, suitable for freezing conditions, and weather-resistant. Painting it with UV-resistant paint for outdoor applications is sufficient for long-lasting performance.
What materials should be used for gluing and installing the product?
Polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive must be used during installation. Silicone adhesives do not provide sufficient adhesion. For a secure and permanent installation, mechanical fastening with screws is recommended alongside the adhesive.
Does the product require an additional primer coat before painting?
The product comes factory-primed with a smooth surface ready for painting. However, because paint manufacturers may not warranty applications made without their system primers, an extra coat of primer is optional and subject to customer preference.
What are its advantages compared to plaster or wooden arch profiles?
Compared to plaster, polyurethane is impact-resistant, lightweight, and easy to install. Compared to wood, it is resistant to moisture, rot and moisture-related deterioration. Furthermore, its dimensional stability test range is -20 °C / +70 °C, reducing cracking risks.
How are the joint seams of the curved arch concealed?
Joint connections and screw holes are filled with polyurethane-compatible filler. Once dry, the filler is sanded flush with 180–220 grit sandpaper, making the seams entirely invisible after painting.
